That's your prerogative. It depends entirely how and when they were field dressed. Wild game can have blood in the meat. That's what gives it that so-called gamey taste that some people complain about. Brining for 12 to 14 hrs helps get rid of it. Plus wild bird such as Pheasant or grouse has almost no fat. Soaking it in liquid helps keep it moist... Also venison should be brined as well.

Brining venison? No fucking way, mang!

What a travesty!

A travesty??? This coming from a guy that posted a pic of some green bean, cracker, vomit casserole and called it food... :laugh3:

I'm going to assume you're probably used to farm raised venison since shooting wild animals and gun ownership down under is heavily regulated. Farm or ranch raised venison is a different kettle of fish. Like any other game animal, farm raised deer tastes different than wild harvested deer.. You know the age and condition of the meat before it's slaughtered and processed like any other "grown" meat product. You're generally not that lucky in the field.

How many deer have you taken wild and dressed and processed personally?

Bitch, I'm a fucking yooper originally. More whitetails than you've got cellulite dimples.

As for my lockdown casserole, that was lovingly and solely concocted for Seaboobus Majorpuss's benefit.... as were a number of other tongue in cheek faux dishes.
Blahhhhhh...

We get flooding every year in Southern Manitoba, but this year was especially bad. We have had so much more rain than in previous years.

Look at this little AC Range III super single drilling rig. I saw it making hole near Unity. I want to see more of this in Saskatchewan.

https://images2.imgbox.com/7a/e9/ds267R12_o.jpg">

They are only as tall as a telephone pole? I thought oil rigs were a lot bigger than that.

Most land rigs are a lot bigger than that. It's a a small single. Most of the wells around here are shallow. From rig up to rig down is less than four days. There are triple rigs in the Peace country of Alberta and BC that have big triple rigs that take more than two months to complete a hole.

Single, double and triple rigs refers the joints of pipe that can be stood up connected in the derrick. A single means one length of pipe, a double two joints connected, and a triple means three joints connected.

I have to give the real credit to my girlfriend.  She likes dragging me out of the house, kicking and screaming.  On the bright side, it's the first time I've seen snow in years.

If I had that natural beauty around me, I wouldn't need to be dragged to it.
