I live in Southern Ontario. If I saw a deer in the wild, it would be the highlight of my day.


 I'm kinda middle/northern MI....sorta.



 I see them all the time lol.

A lot of people go to Northern Michigan for hunting and fishing.


 Yep. We have deer meat all year in our deep freezer.  I decent sized deer per season will feed a family of 6 all year.

I like venison..



Sometimes I wish my husband did hunt..



We have lots of deer and elk within one hundred kilometres of this city.


 How does elk compare to deer (the meat)?



 And keep in mind hunting really is very valuable to the ecosystem. There has to be a good balance of predator and prey. If humans were not hunting....the deer population would grow to fast and the poor things would start starving and passing disease.



 Sometimes here in MI if the population gets too large, they open a few months of hunting to get it back under control. Here the deer dont really have much for natural predators though.
