Not in the military, not as a cop, not ever.

As for the "looking good" part... I was a lot younger then.

Yes, after a couple years part-time as a security guard I became a criminal justice academy graduate sworn via a municipal agency (City of Roanoke) but paid by the state of Virginia.

I worked in a small department at a community college, almost exclusively 2nd or 3rd shifts which suited me fine; I've always been a bit of a night owl.

I was even certified as a general instructor at the academy but after certification didn't get tasked there... I think they hated the fact that I was an atheist.



Working at a municipal agency never had appeal for me.

If not for the college gig I would have been doing something else.
