Whatever governments around the world are doing to lower greenhouse gas emissions, it's not working.



Entering the new year, emissions from fossil fuels and cement production in 2022 were virtually identical to the highest level ever recorded — 36.7 billion tonnes in 2019.



The estimate for 2022, with final calculations still being done, is 36.6 billion tonnes, up from 36.4 billion tonnes in 2021 and 34.8 billion tonnes in 2020. However, 2020 was an outlier year because it was the first year of the pandemic, which caused a global recession.



The only other time emissions fell in the modern era occurred from 2008-09, caused by the global recession that started with the subprime mortgage derivative scandal.



Logically, emissions this year will go down from 2022 because of the current recession, but relying on recessions to lower emissions isn't desirable or sustainable.



By contrast, replacing coal-fired electricity with natural gas is the single most effective way we have to lower emissions, using existing technologies, because natural gas burns at half the carbon dioxide intensity of coal.



If the rest of the world used as little coal as Canada does to generate electricity, the problem of rising emissions would be solved.



The most effective way Canada, the world's fourth-largest producer of natural gas, could lower emissions globally would be to develop the infrastructure needed to transport natural gas from Canada's interior to tidewater, convert it to liquified natural gas and export it globally on ocean-going tankers.

For people all over the world, their lives are basically dependent on fossil fuels. And so the idea that we are going to get people off of fossil fuels by making it so expensive that it makes it impossible for them to have good lives is morally reprehensible.

It is okay to joke about it here, but what if your boy has a son. Do you want him growing up in a country that hates him and persecutes him.

My Son was raised right, Im certain my Grandson will stand tall and strong!



My Son already has had tastes of this shit. Back in school, all his clothes were camo. School decided to ban camo, that camo is racist. My Son was pissed, I was pissed. I encouraged him to get on social media, and tell all his friends to wear camo the next day. And by golly, over half the school showed up in camo, and flying flags off their pickup trucks hahahaha. School decided not to ban camo  



Seems the bigger the voice, the more they listen. Good folks need to stop being so quiet and complacent.



There is no fleeing, as this is a Global Goal that THEY are trying to achieve. And Brother, THEY have the pedal to the metal.



Seeing the Truckers, the Farmers, etc standing up, makes me proud. MORE folks need to do this. Fuck, all we gotta do is not work for a week, all of us, and it will have them scrambling I would think.

Oh, and last night, I saw a video, where they arrested Ashli Babbit's Mom, Mom of the girl who was murdered on Jan 6th, at the Capitol yesterday. For "jay walking". It was obvious the cops had the road blocked to begin with, and because protesters crossed the street there, they said it was jay walking.
