Several powerful New Jersey leaders affiliated with the Democratic Party have now been indicted in connection with an alleged corruption scandal that stretches back more than a decade.

On Monday, New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin, a Democrat appointed to office in 2022 by Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy, announced multiple charges, including first-degree racketeering, against six defendants: George Norcross III, Philip Norcross, William Tambussi, Dana Redd, Sidney Brown, and John O'Donnell.

According to Platkin's press release, a group referred to as the Norcross Enterprise used unseemly means to acquire property, especially in Camden, and then coordinated with government officials to "craft" laws and regulations that benefited them. When officials and other residents refused to play along, the enterprise resorted to "coercion, extortion, and other criminal acts" to get their way, the press release said.

A federal judge issued a preliminary injunction on Monday, blocking Iowa's new illegal immigration law that would authorize state police to arrest and deport illegal aliens.

Senate File 2340 was signed into law by Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) in April to address the Biden administration's open border crisis.

Reynolds previously stated regarding the bill, "The Biden administration has failed to enforce our nation's immigration laws, putting the protection and safety of Iowans at risk."

"Those who come into our country illegally have broken the law, yet Biden refuses to deport them. This bill gives Iowa law enforcement the power to do what he is unwilling to do: enforce immigration laws already on the books," Reynolds added.

If allowed to go into effect, the legislation would allow Iowa law enforcement to charge illegal immigrants with an aggravated misdemeanor if they have an outstanding deportation order, were previously removed from the country, or were prohibited from entering the country. The law would also impose felony charges against illegal aliens with any prior felony convictions or former deportation orders related to drug crimes or crimes against people.

Andrew Bailey is unwilling to let apparent Democratic attacks on the fairness of the 2024 election go unanswered.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey (R) revealed Thursday that such attacks will not go unanswered.

Bailey noted on X that he would be "filing suit against the State of New York for their direct attack on our democratic process through unconstitutional lawfare against President Trump. It's time to restore the rule of law."

According to the Republican, the efforts of "rogue prosecutor" New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg to "take a presidential candidate off the campaign trail ... sabotages Missourians' right to a free and fair election."

Among the issues Bailey highlighted with Trump's prosecution in New York — which are likely to be raised in his forthcoming lawsuit — were:

Bragg's "disqualifying impropriety," reflected in part by his refusal to recuse himself despite an obvious self-interest in the case;
the indictment charges' "reference to an unspecified and unidentifiable other crime," which altogether "constitutes a deprivation of due process by denying the defendant his Sixth Amendment right to be informed of the crimes with which he is charged";
the prosecutor's efforts to have Trump silenced with an "unconstitutional gag order";
Bragg's perversion of "the law to meet the facts rather than objectively apply the facts to the law," namely through the expansion of the charges beyond the text of the statute at issue in order to criminalize "that which he does not like rather than that which the law forbids"; and
Bragg's failure to "correct the Court's error in instructing the jury that unanimity was not required as to the predicate offense that forms the basis for the fallacious charges."

Bailey further highlighted in his testimony the apparent "collusion" between the Biden Department of Justice and the New York District Attorney's Office regarding the initiative to take Trump off the board.

The ruling was handed down days after President Joe Biden unveiled a new policy that allows immigrant spouses of American citizens to apply for permanent resident status without leaving the United States.
