Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton enjoyed more than one victory on Tuesday night.

In addition to defeating incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the GOP Senate primary runoff election by over 380,000 votes, Paxton saw his endorsee, Texas state Sen. Mayes Middleton, win the Texas attorney general Republican primary runoff.

Top Democratic officials and lawmakers are breaking with Democratic Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner as his past blunders and online history stack up.

Much of that is fueled by scandals that have cropped up seemingly week after week, be it a tattoo on his chest of a Nazi symbol or inflammatory posts online.

Some in the Democratic Party warn that it's spurring a "civil war" between the moderate and left wings of the party.

Melissa DeRosa, former New York Mayor Andrew Cuomo's chief of staff, told Fox News' Bret Baier that Platner's rise and ensuing questions of his fitness as a candidate are demonstrative of the bubbling conflict within the Democratic Party.

"The main race really demonstrates the civil war that's happening within the Democratic Party, and there are a lot of Democrats, moderate Democrats like myself, who will not cry tears should we lose Maine," DeRosa said. "I mean, that would be a pickup to begin with."

Senate Democrats view Maine as one of the most viable pickup opportunities in the 2026 midterm cycle in their quest to regain control of the upper chamber.

Vice President JD Vance revealed just how much taxpayer money is lost to fraud across America — and it's more than you think.

"We've referred over $22 billion in fraudulent small business loans back to the Treasury for collection. We deferred more than $1.3 billion in fraudulent Medicaid reimbursements that were coming from various states, particularly California," Vance explained.

The Trump administration has also "put a six-month hold on enrollments for new hospice and home health care providers" due to a large amount of fraud uncovered in hospices all over the country.

"We've recovered taxpayer funds from the $135 billion stolen after the floodgates were opened in the immediate aftermath of COVID. We have found $6.3 billion in suspected fraudulent government contracts which were mostly awarded during the last administration, and that has stopped," Vance continued.

WESTMINSTER, Calif.—Along a 1.5-mile stretch of Bolsa Avenue in Orange County, a generic sprawl of suburban strip malls belies one of the region's most concentrated cultural hubs. Here, hundreds of bakeries and restaurants, apothecaries and casinos, dentists and sundry storefronts all cater to a Vietnamese diaspora, offering tastes of the Old World—from $8 pho to $850 edible birds' nests.

Orange County is home to the largest Vietnamese community outside Vietnam, around 240,000 people—most of whom live in and around the Little Saigon neighborhood spanning Garden Grove, Westminster, Fountain Valley, and Santa Ana.

All along Bolsa Avenue, Old Glory flies in tandem with the yellow-and-red striped flag of South Vietnam, a nod to the wave of refugees who settled here after the fall of Saigon in 1975.

That history has played a prominent role in the contentious battle for California's 45th Congressional District, one of the state's few remaining swing seats after an aggressive bout of partisan redistricting—and a touchpoint in the GOP's fight to keep its razor-thin grasp on the US House.

Donald Trump announced late Wednesday evening that he will nominate Todd Blanche to serve as attorney general.

Speaking at a White House dinner on Thursday, Trump said he intends to nominate Blanche—who currently serves as acting attorney general—for the position.

"We are going to make him permanent attorney general," Trump said at the Rose Garden event.

Such a move would require the support of a simple majority of senators. He was confirmed in a 52–46 party-line vote in the Senate last year.

Blanche was tapped as acting attorney general after Trump announced on April 2 that Attorney General Pam Bondi would be "transitioning" to an important role in the private sector that would be announced in the near future.

She later revealed she had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had recently undergone surgery.

A former Army combat surgeon and 9/11 first responder with a history of befriending convicted Islamist terrorists emerged victorious in Tuesday night's Democratic primary for New Jersey's 12th Congressional District.

Adam Hamawy — having received endorsements from Sen. Bernie Sanders and Reps. Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, and Ro Khanna — beat out 12 other Democratic contenders in the contest to replace retiring Democratic Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman.

Hamawy led the race in fundraising by a significant margin, with the pro-Palestinian super PAC American Priorities spending an additional $2 million on his behalf.

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (D) ratified a radical piece of Democratic legislation last week that will force colleges across the state to moonlight as dispensaries for abortion drugs like mifepristone, thereby encouraging college-age women to abort the next generation.

House Bill 1335 — a bill sponsored by state Rep. Lorena Garcia, a Democrat who ensured last year that all Coloradan taxpayers contribute to abortion — requires that:

Thirty-two Colorado colleges with student health facilities "provide abortion medication to all students enrolled at the institution";
On-campus pharmacies "maintain a stock of and provide access to abortion medication to students" enrolled at the school; and
Colleges without on-site pharmacies submit prescriptions for abortion medications to off-campus pharmacies or alternatively dispense abortion drugs through their student health centers.

The law goes into effect on Aug. 1, 2027.
