Secretary of State Marco Rubio condemned the German domestic spy agency for designating the Alternative für Deutschland party an "extremist" group.

Germany's Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, the Verfassungsschutz, claimed Friday that the AfD was trying to "undermine the free democratic basic order" — opening up the ability to greater surveil the group. The move drew backlash from the Trump administration, with Rubio and others voicing their concern on social media.

"Germany just gave its spy agency new powers to surveil the opposition. That's not democracy—it's tyranny in disguise. What is truly extremist is not the popular AfD—which took second in the recent election—but rather the establishment's deadly open border immigration policies that the AfD opposes. Germany should reverse course," Rubio said in a post on X.

Quote from: DKG on May 03, 2025, 06:21:38 PMI recognize that the people decided they had enough of the status quo. They wanted their government to start forcing other countries to trade fairly with the US.

Technically you are right but people didnt want this shit ITFP. They didnt want this to be the status quo and I personally bitched about it mercilessly for 30+ years! I've been calling for a civil war against the federal government since at least 1995, when I first got the inferwebs.

It took thirty years but you finally got a president who takes the nation's trade imbalance seriously.

The U.S. Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against the state of Illinois over state efforts against businesses using a federal program meant to weed out illegal aliens from being hired and competing with U.S. citizens for jobs.

"This Department of Justice is committed to protecting American workers, employers, and enforcing federal immigration law," said U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi in a press release about the lawsuit.

"Any state that incentivizes illegal immigration and makes it harder for federal authorities to do their job will face legal consequences from this administration," she added.

The government said the state was infringing on federal immigration enforcement.
