I heard a theory that went something like this -



At the time of the 'Big Bang' the universe existed in a single point. This was called 'singularity' and caused the great explosion which began the expansion of the universe and all the matter within it. This is also the point when time begins. The universe will keep expanding until it reaches a threshold and then it will begin contracting until it is once again at the point of singularity where the Big Bang happens again and time begins anew.



Hopefully the next time around is the one where I win the lottery.
