What will that do to food prices.

The Supreme Court limited the reach of the federal Identity Theft Penalty Enhancement Act, unanimously rebuffing the Biden administration's efforts to prosecute a man already convicted of Medicaid fraud with a separate charge of aggravated identity theft arising out of the same fraud case.

The 9–0 opinion (pdf) in Dubin v. United States (court file 22-10) was issued on June 8 and authored by Justice Sonia Sotomayor. Justice Neil Gorsuch filed a concurring opinion.

The Identity Theft Penalty Enhancement Act mandates a two-year prison sentence for violations.

School administrators in Burlington, Massachusetts, called the actions of students who resisted a middle school's Pride Month celebrations "completely unacceptable." They also said it was "demeaning" to other students while likening it to violence.

According to Boston.com, on June 2, 2023, students at Marshall Simonds Middle School showed their obvious displeasure with the school's "spirit day" celebration. The event was requested and sponsored by the school's Spectrum Club, a student group for alleged LGBTQ+ students and allies, according to the outlet.

The club decorated the school with "Happy Pride Month" signs and posters that said "Why it's not OK to say 'That's so gay.'" Rainbow streamers, banners, and stickers were handed out, while students and faculty were encouraged to wear rainbow clothing.

Opposing students reportedly tore down banners and signs and chanted "U.S.A. are my pronouns" as they wore red, white, and blue clothes with their faces painted. The outlet also reported that students were seen "being inappropriate" with the rainbow stickers used during the event.

Right on. Stick it to woke companies like Starbucks.

A white woman who formerly worked as a regional manager for Starbucks has won a civil rights lawsuit in which she claimed that she was fired because of her race.

On Monday, a federal jury awarded Shannon Phillips a whopping $25 million in punitive damages and an additional $600,000 in compensatory damages after members unanimously agreed that Starbucks had fired her on racial grounds. "I was terminated because I am white," Phillips said in court documents filed in 2019. "If I was black, I would not have been terminated. I was terminated because I complained of and objected to race discrimination."

The circumstances surrounding Phillips' termination began five years ago, when two black men, Rashon Nelson and Donte Robinson, were infamously arrested at a Starbucks store in Philadelphia after employees told them they could not use the store restrooms unless they first made a purchase. The men refused to leave or purchase anything, insisting that they were still waiting on a third party. Because of their intransigence that day, an employee eventually called the cops, and the two were arrested, though they were never charged with any crime.

Phillips, who worked for Starbucks for 13 years, was not the manager on duty when the arrest took place, nor was she involved in the decision to call police on Nelson and Robinson. In fact, she was a regional director responsible for overseeing 100 stores spanning parts of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania and had little input in the day-to-day operations of those establishments.

Yet she alleged in the lawsuit that she and other white employees became scapegoats, suspended or let go from their jobs "to convince the community that [Starbucks] had properly responded to the incident." Soon after it happened, Phillips claimed she was ordered to place a white manager, who had been with the company for 15 years, on administrative leave for supposed racial discrimination, even though Phillips did not believe the man had done anything wrong.

Phillips also noted in court documents that the district manager of the store where the arrests occurred is black but that he had not been reprimanded or otherwise penalized for his connection with the incident.

People reacted with shock after all three contestants on an episode of the long-running "Jeopardy!" quiz show were apparently stumped by an elementary Bible knowledge-related question.

None of the three players rang in to respond when host Mayim Bialik presented a clue that read, "MATTHEW 6:9 SAYS, 'OUR FATHER WHICH ART IN HEAVEN', THIS 'BE THY NAME.'"

After the apparently clueless contestants failed to offer a response, Bialik supplied the answer: "Hallowed be thy name."

How do these idiots get on Jeopardy? They were all stumped by last night's question too -

- He debuted on TV in 1967; the show's creator wanted someone from behind the Iron Curtain to be on "our side"

I knew the answer right off of course -

Canada's population is about to hit the major milestone of 40 million. And according to that clock, Canada will hit the 40-million mark just before 3 p.m. Eastern on June 16.

Statistics Canada reports that the country's population has been growing at a "record-setting pace," with 1,050,110 additional people arriving in 2022 - the first time in history the agency says the population grew by more than one million people in a single year. It's also the highest annual population growth rate on record since 1957, when the baby boom after the Second World War contributed to very high rates.

This trend of growth comes "in large part" from permanent and temporary migration, the agency says, and if current trends continue the population could reach 50 million in just 20 years.

People are going to see the Law of Diminishing Returns in action happen right before their very eyes with these numbers...  Which I understand, but the left does not, nor does the right to be honest, but they both will...

Once they've realized that their kids or grand kids will never be able to own a home in this country, they just might put 2+2 together and realize that insane immigration levels isn't solving that problem, contrary to what we've been told.

Once they've realized that they'll sit for 10 hours in an ER room waiting to be seen, or wait months or even years for a procedure, they'll realize that these millions of immigrants aren't actually helping as we've been told they would...  The reality is, the more we bring in, the worse it gets.  The left are starting to open their eyes now too, but are just one step away from admitting that we're taking in too many, too fast, as that would be racist.  The right still wants the massive influx, because they're pro-business and simply want the consumers for growth for selling you their product, which is likely made in China, and also for the cheap disposable labour they provide also.

There's no easy answer, solution, or a fix to this problem.  Housing is the only 'pension plan' many Canadians have (myself included), and to let that house of cards Ponzi scheme collapse would be detrimental also.  This scenario should never have been allowed to permeate in the first place...

I vote PPC, simply because this country cannot absorb the amount of people that we're absorbing now, and they are the ONLY party that wants to reduce those levels until our infrastructure can handle them.

Every other mainstream party will now jam 1,100,000, or more, into this country every single year, because they've been told to do so by entities like the (((Century Initiative))).

The Supreme Court upheld by 7–2 a racially discriminatory adoption law aimed at preventing non-Indian families from adopting Native American children.

Conservative Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito dissented from the new ruling in Haaland v. Brackeen (court file 21-376) which was consolidated with three other related cases. U.S. Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland is the petitioner.

The June 15 decision is a victory for the Biden administration, which argued in favor of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA), which was enacted by Congress in 1978 to prevent non-Indian families from adopting Native American children. The statute was a reaction to perceived historical injustices and concerns that Indian children were being removed from their traditional homes and Indian culture and placed in homes that had no connection to their culture. The Bureau of Indian Affairs used to pay states to carry out the adoptions.

Our immigration are about six times higher than they should be.

A 14-year-old was brutally beaten up at a theme park in Gwinnett County, Georgia, over his shoes valued at about $1,400, and social media video showed that bystanders watched and recorded the incident but didn't intervene.

I wholeheartedly agree with Mel and Herm about Canadian immigration annual intake. It's well beyond excessive. It's totally unsustainable.
