Some of Bud Light's problems in the wake of a boycott over its partnership with Dylan Mulvaney could be permanent, according to an analyst in a new note about the beleaguered brand.

"We believe recent underperformance implies a permanent reduction in ABI's U.S. business," Deutsche Bank analyst Mitch Collett wrote for Barron's, referring to Anheuser-Busch InBev, the parent company of Bud Light. "Our proprietary survey data suggests these headwinds are likely to fade even if we do not expect the U.S. business ever to fully recover from its current challenges."

I usually drink Jack Daniels or Woodford Reserve.   Unfortunately they fagified. I never drank bud cause it was shit. I started buying more beer just to support non bud brands.

I drank Budweiser once. It tasted like water that bread had walked through. I can't imagine what a "light" version of it would be like and I don't feel an urgent need to find out.
Her fucking fupa looked like a pair of ass cheeks... like someone naked ran into her head first and got stuck. She was like "come eat me out" and I was like "nah I think I'll go snort some anthrax and light myself on fire instead"

The U.S. Supreme Court on June 26 dismissed an appeal over a long-running dispute between former President Donald Trump and congressional Democrats over the former Trump International Hotel in the nation's capital.

The dispute focused on documents related to the lease of the government property in downtown Washington that housed the hotel. Democrats claimed that Trump received a sweetheart deal and demanded documentation from the government, which refused their request.

Trump left the presidency in January 2021, and The Trump Organization sold the lease to the property in May 2022 to CGI Merchant Group for an undisclosed sum. The hotel is now known as the Waldorf Astoria Washington D.C. and is part of Hilton Worldwide.

If the case had been heard and Democrats had prevailed, the minority party in Congress would have gained a great deal more power going forward to investigate a president's administration of the opposite party, even if the minority party lacked the committee votes required to issue a subpoena.

The Supreme Court had just decided on May 15 to hear the case, but Democratic lawmakers advised the court on June 7 that they had voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit in the lower courts.

The case is Carnahan v. Maloney, court file 22-425.

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) says 20 employees have been terminated after an internal review found they claimed COVID-19 benefits while still working at the tax authority.

The CRA said in a late Friday statement that more workers could be fired as it investigates about 600 employees who may have "inappropriately" received the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) despite not losing their job during the pandemic.

This is the wash stand we got from the mother in laws dump... my jug... the beautiful basin was smashed in half when I fell on it a couple of years ago...it still has to be glued...

And the other dressing table Kurt got off the side of the road and now my bedroom TV has a nicer stand...

Moving furniture and the dirt and dust goes flying.. it is incredibly time commsuming but when it is all done, it's satisfying.

An update on Fukishima nuclear plant.

Japan's plans to release radioactive water from the wrecked Fukushima nuclear plant into the Pacific Ocean are consistent with international safety standards, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has concluded.

The findings, published on July 4 (pdf), followed a comprehensive assessment and safety review of the treated water stored at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (FDNPS), according to the U.N. watchdog.

The IAEA also stated that "controlled, gradual discharges of the treated water to the sea" as currently planned by Japan's government and the plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO), would have a "negligible radiological impact on people and the environment."

The report is the result of a nearly two-year assessment conducted by an IAEA task force made up of top specialists from within the agency advised by "internationally recognized nuclear safety experts from eleven countries," according to a statement.

About 1.2 million cubic meters of water that have been used to cool the fuel rods of the Fukushima plant will be released under the plan over the next three to four decades in order to prevent accidental leaks and to allow for the plant's decommissioning.

As part of the plan, the IAEA stated that it will conduct an independent and objective safety review during the discharge phase, with a continued on-site presence and live online monitoring throughout.

The rivalry between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg has just heated up as Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has teased that it's launching a platform to rival Twitter.

Called "Threads," the Meta-backed microblogging platform is billed as "Instagram's text-based conversation app," according to a listing on Apple's App Store.

The listing indicates that Threads will released on Thursday, July 6.

"Threads is where communities come together to discuss everything from the topics you care about today to what'll be trending tomorrow," the app description reads.

Before it became clear that Thread would be the name of Meta's challenger to Twitter, there were reports in early June that the Zuckerberg-led company was working on a Twitter competitor code named Project 92 or P92.
