A bearded teen complaining in Arabic about insults to Muhammad rushed the sanctuary of an Assyrian Orthodox church in Sydney last week, savagely stabbing Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel and Fr. Isaac Royel. Australian officials determined that the attack on Christian clergymen, which was captured on video, was an act of religiously motivated terrorism.

While apparently willing to admit the attack was what it appeared to be on video, the Australian government has attempted to erase the video evidence from social media.

X, formerly known as Twitter, indicated Friday that the Australian government has ordered it to remove the video evidence of the anti-Christian attack. While the platform appeared willing to accommodate the Australian eSafety Commissioner regionally, that apparently was not enough for the Australian state, which has since demanded global censorship of the video.

I've said it for years, Australia is a jackbooted shitbag country that treats its people like cattle. Really, most of the crown countries are shit like that. Everyone is a disarmed cuck.

There is a surprise, not. The US and Canada routinely cover Muslim acts of terror too.

Iranian rapper Toomaj Salehi has been sentenced to death.

An Iranian revolutionary court sentenced the well-known hip hop star today (April 24) for charges linked to Iran's 2022-23 unrest.

Salehi showed solidarity for the months-long protests in his songs, which were sparked by the death in police custody of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish-Iranian woman arrested for allegedly wearing an 'improper' hijab.

He released songs criticising the government, demanding more rights for women in Iran.

The rape conviction of movie producer Harvey Weinstein has been overturned by New York's highest court.

The New York Court of Appeals, in a 4-3 opinion, overturned Weinstein's conviction on sex crimes against three women, finding the trial judge "erroneously admitted testimony of uncharged, alleged prior sexual acts against persons other than the complainants of the underlying crimes."

A Louisiana man who admitted to raping a girl when she was a young teenager has opted to undergo surgical castration as part of his sentence.

The case began in July 2022, when a young woman went to the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office to make a disturbing report about Glenn Sullivan Sr. of Springfield, Louisiana, about 40 miles east of Baton Rouge. According to the young woman, Sullivan "had raped her multiple times when she was just 14-years-old," said a Facebook post from the office of District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux.

The girl had become pregnant as a result of the attacks. A DNA test of her child later confirmed that Sullivan is the father.

An investigation into the case also revealed that Sullivan, who is now 54 years old, first groomed the girl into the assaults. He then threatened her and her family with violence to keep them quiet about them, the DA's office said.

Last week, Sullivan pled guilty to four counts of second-degree rape.

Louisiana law takes the rape of a minor very seriously and imposes harsh penalties on those convicted of it. In some cases, convicted rapists in Louisiana can even be ordered to undergo chemical or surgical castration as part of their sentence.

Judge William Dykes must have believed that Sullivan's case warranted castration, as he issued the order for it. However, the method of castration was left up to Sullivan. As part of his plea agreement, Sullivan chose surgery.

Nothing will stop someone who's all fucked up like this. Kill him or keep him locked up forever. If he gets out, whats to stop him from eating out and finger banging the fuck out of another 14yo? Nothing.

Retail workers and people employed in the food services industry will be replaced by AI as  the ramps up its takeover of the workforce, an expert has revealed.

The dire warning comes amid fears the technology known as generative AI could be rolled out across Australia by the end of this year, leaving thousands of workers displaced.

Research by workplace technology firm Service Now, found that 1.3million jobs will be automated in Australia over the next four years in a major shakeup to the workforce.

Office Support

Admin jobs will be replaced very easily by AI with workers such as secretaries and those who perform clerical duties, to be affected by the technology.

Other roles that will face the brunt of these machine learning tools also include bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, and data entry.

Customer Service and Sales

The retail and sales sector will also be heavily impacted by AI.

Service Now and workforce technology expert Pearson, found that nearly a quarter of retail jobs in Australia will be scrapped due to the technology by 2027.

This amounts to 323,000 full-time workers who will be left jobless, as companies transition to cheaper alternatives.

Food services

Restaurants and fast food chains already use AI technology to take orders from customers and recommend menu items.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused an alarming rise of an aggressive and highly fatal secondary fungal infection among those with active or recovered COVID-19.

Research suggests that the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the overuse of immunosuppressive COVID-19 treatments such as corticosteroids and antibiotics, and the global pandemic response made people more susceptible to coinfections such as COVID-19-associated mucormycosis (CAM).

Mucormycosis, also known as black fungus, is an opportunistic fungal infection that typically affects the sinuses, lungs, and brain. It is caused by a group of molds commonly found in the environment. Before COVID-19, these fungi rarely caused infection because of low virulence, but the second wave of COVID-19 brought tens of thousands of reported cases. Even the Omicron variant, which was generally attributed to mild COVID-19, has been linked to lethal mucormycosis infections in the United States and Asia.

Students sitting for the STAAR exam throughout the state of Texas will have their written answers automatically graded by artificial intelligence. The development comes as some fear AI could significantly affect education in the near future.

The exam — provided by the Texas Education Agency — will use an "automated scoring engine" to help grade open-ended questions on the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness for writing, reading, science, and social studies. The move is a step beyond using machines to simply grade multiple-choices answers or Scantron sheets.
