A startup recently announced the launch of the world's first live sperm race, and you will be able to watch its inaugural edition right here in Los Angeles.

According to commercial real estate media outlet Traded, the startup – known simply as Sperm Racing – recently raised $1 million in support of their efforts to put on the world's first sperm race. The Sperm Racing website's "manifesto" cites a worldwide decline in male fertility as the catalyst for the idea.

"Male fertility is declining. Like, a lot," the "manifesto" states. "It's happening quietly, steadily and nobody's really talking about it." Thus, to raise awareness of the alarming trend, the founders are turning health into a sport.

"If you can train for sports [by spending] hours perfecting your form and pushing your body to its limits, then why can't you train your health, too?" the website continues. "Why can't you measure it, improve it and compete in it?"

Now, you might be wondering how exactly a sperm race works. Well, the founders laid it out:

First, a microscopic racetrack for the two sperm samples to compete on will be constructed. The course mimics reproductive system and includes chemical signals, fluid dynamics and synchronized starts.

Every move that the sperm makes is tracked by high-resolution cameras and livestreamed. There will even be stats, leaderboards and, yes, instant replays.

The race itself is exactly like any other: the first sperm to cross the finish line wins.

"We're turning it into a spectacle," Sperm Racing said. "Think press conferences, weigh-ins, live-streamed races with play-by-play commentary. And of course, betting," the website added.

That's right. The founders of Sperm Racing are creating a market where fans can pick their favorite competitors and wager on winners.

The world's first-ever sperm race will take place on April 25 in a USC against UCLA-style battle. Tickets go on sale at noon on Monday.

The U.S. Department of Education on Monday froze more than $2 billion in federal funding for Harvard University, just hours after the school rejected President Donald Trump's demands that it make deep policy changes on diversity.

A Department of Education task force on combating antisemitism said in a statement that it was freezing $2.2 billion in multi-year grants and $60 million in multi-year contract value to Harvard University.

The issue of antisemitism on campus erupted before Trump took office for his second term, following pro-Palestinian student protests last year at several universities following the 2023 Hamas attack inside Israel and the subsequent Israeli attacks on Gaza.

White House spokesman Harrison Fields said in a statement on Monday that Trump was "working to Make Higher Education Great Again by ending unchecked anti-Semitism and ensuring federal taxpayer dollars do not fund Harvard's support of dangerous racial discrimination or racially motivated violence."

Why the hell are we giving money to Harvard University? Isn't their $59,076 yearly tuition enough to keep the place running?

Google held a monopoly in online ad tech, U.S. judge finds

In another major legal blow to Google, a federal judge on Thursday ruled that the search giant held an illegal monopoly over some advertising technology.

Judge Leonie Brinkema of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia said in a ruling that Google illegally maintained and acquired a monopoly in two markets for advertising technology — publisher ad servers and the market for ad exchanges.

But in a partial win for Google, antitrust enforcers failed to prove that the company held a monopoly in advertiser ad networks, the judge found.

The highly watched decision could reshape the online advertising business that website publishers rely on to fund the creation of content. It underscores how the U.S. government has been trying to rein in the power of Big Tech, which collects a trove of data of its users to fuel its advertising businesses.

Google's latest legal hurdle comes after it lost a separate case in August in which a judge ruled that Google maintained a monopoly in online search.
