...well then how about $20,000....Lokmeer?!

I just don't wanna spend too much on a car

If at all possible....$15,000 then?

A convertible if at all possible.

Sheesh! $20K wont even buy a fukin decent MG midget these days. Maybe you could buy a busted ass old mustang with a V6. You'd be just as well off to buy an AMC Gremlin or a fukin Pinto.

Well then, how about these...Lokmeer?

...what could go wrong with these cars?

what are some of the danger signs I should ask or look for?

Keep in mind as I said before, I wouldn't be using this kind of car as a primary vehicle, just as a secondary weekend recreational car to take a spin around town once in a while.

I wouldn't be nor have any intention of using it all the time, since 'Classic' or 'Collector' plates have a limitation on use or number of days/times when they can be driven.

that's why the insurance rates are so low on those cars.

High revving, Natural aspirated  and reliable engine,  manual transmission and RWD? A dying breed to be sure.

Actually, I'd like ta get a vintage European sportscar Lokmeer!

However, I bet the repair and maintenance bills on those 'tings must cost more than the vehicle itself. I suppose that's why the sticker price on 'em can be cheap.

But they're probably not so cheap to own, eh?

So a person would probably have to be a mechanic to own one of them.

The mustangs don't look cheap to maintain either, but of the 2 they must be infinitely more affordable & there are more service options too.

If a vintage mustang was relatively stable and easy to maintain I'd probably choose it over an import.

Nah.

I've always thought that the BMW was a rather bland suburban car.

As far as styling and excitement go, I actually think a number ofvintage  American cars made around the same time were a lot more glamorous such as the Mustang and Corvettes.

Maybe I'm wrong.

Can you show me what I've missed...Lokmeer?

Lokmar

What  you've  missed is riding around an ACTUAL race track with someone like me. That MIGHT make a fukin ACTUAL man out of ANY of you.

Starry and googly eyed perhaps. But let's face it, with all the traffic going one way and competent paramedics on close hand if anything goes wrong... not that much of a man...

Take him on a rally, especially in less than ideal conditions. Something with a lot of blind corners and hills in it, unsurfaced roads littered with the odd gaggle of spectators. And pack a few industrial strength air fresheners in case he shits himself.

2 years ago, a guy went off track and was ejected. His heart stopped twice on the medivac flight but they eventually saved him. Generally its safe, but shit happens.
