One of numerous covers of the old Willie Dixon classic. I think Foghat knocked it outta the park:

I didn't know whether to post this in Under the Covers or L.I.V.E.

System of a Down's high-octane cover of Black Sabbath's "Snowblind."

Detroit was formed by the great Mitch Ryder after The Detroit Wheels folded. Detroit did one album and it contained this superb cover of a Lou Reed song. Enjoy!

Indeed, it is a good cover of a very, very good song, written by the great Joe South. Here is the original, amigo:

This great Yardbirds standard is actually a cover of a tune penned by the inimitable Graham Gouldman:

Nobody can sing this song like Ronnie could. Still, this is a good cover.

This is a righteous cover of Status Quo's 60's classic "Pictures of Matchstick Men."  I'll probably post the original later on in the 1960s Songs thread. In the meantime, enjoy:

These guys said they were louder than God. Who am I to say otherwise?  In their day, Blue Cheer certainly stood out from the crowd. If I remember correctly, this is a cover of an Eddie Cochran standard.

From Michigan, The Woolies were one of virtually countless "almost famous" bands. Their cover of Bo Diddley's classic number did make the charts and I remember it getting some radio play. It's still good:
