To Shen Li and supporters of bullies:

Shen Li

I read your post with great interest because I also have visited Israel but have a much different perspective than you. I found it to be a hot elitist shitty little country in the middle of a desert whose residents are living in lah lah land under a bubble (or as they now call it The Iron Dome). They constantly cry about being persecuted and worry about attacks from all sides. I wonder why that is? Individuals who think like that usually have to go to a doctor to get meds.

Yes, the holocaust, i agree did happen and was terrible, tragic, and unspeakable, but I find it ironic that these poor "persecuted" people are treating the Palestinians no better than the Nazis treated the Jews in pre war Europe. Putting them under seige, cutting off their water, food, and medicine while they bask in swimming pools and miles and miles of irrigated orchards for olives and grapes as Palestinians beg for water for basic humanitarian reasons.

I applaud Hamas for fighting against this facist oppressive Jewish state and the sooner Israel realizes that peace will only come through real negotiations for a two state solution there will always be war. And eventually the Arabic states will win and probably push Israel out to the sea. This is of course will take 100 years because they do now have support (now waning) of one powerful country in the world - USA and of course Conservative Canada. Thank goodness the Liberals will win the next election and we can get a more balanced approach to this problem Isreal has created for itself.

Its disproportiante response to small rockets from Hamas will be the undoing of Israel. The world has lost patience and its time to get a grip on reality. The Palestinians are the oppressed and the Israeli war machine has always been the trouble maker, bully, and aggressor. 600 Palestinians slaughtered (mostly civilians including countless babies) and Israel loses a few soldiers.....pretty good pinpoint accuracy with those drones and war planes Nutinyahoo (as John Kerry more or less said yesterday).

Hezbollah in the north has threatened to join the fight and ally with Hamas...if this happens Israel has a real problem and will learn it cannot bomb babies and women out of that prediciment. I used to feel sorry for Israel years ago but that has long since dried up and i now fully support whatever it takes to put them in their place. They produce nothing but war materials they sell to anyone in the world, other than that what else are they famous for? Gods chosen people is a myth based in a religion based on a myth. Christianity is probably the most violent and bloody religion in the world. The millions slaughtered over the centuries in the name of God is sickening. Remember what the christian romans did, remember the millions slaughtered during the Inquisitions of the middle ages , and of course the Spaniards slaughtering the indigenous peoples of Central America. Christianity trumps Islam when it comes to extremism.

History will show that plunking them all in the middle of Arab lands and dislocating Palestinians after WW2 was a major mistake. Too bad the Arab states didn't have a vote on that. My personal solution is that all the illegal settlements should be demolished or (even better) handed over to Palestinians who are the rightful owners, water should be channeled into Gaza and the West Bank where it rightfully belongs, and perhaps all Israelis should get a free one way plane ticket to the lands of their origins before WW2 - ie. Poland, Germany, France, Russia (I am sure they would welcome that) etc. Its the only viable solution as Israel now seems unable to cope with the reality of living peacefully with its Arab neighbors who have tolerated their bullshit for more than 50 years. Time to move on and try to live somewhere else and leave the Arab states in peace. We are all tired of Israel and its self created problems and inability to find the correct solutions.

Respectfully,

Cheng_Zi

Quote'Jews and Arabs Refuse to Be Enemies' Proves Love is Bigger Than War

Amid unrest in the Middle East, some interfaith couples are determined to prove love is stronger than war.

Journalist Sulome Anderson, who is half Lebanese, kisses her Jewish boyfriend in a viral photograph posted on Facebook and Twitter -- part of an explosive social media campaign spreading the message: "Jews and Arabs refuse to be enemies."

"When we started dating we would argue a lot about politics and slowly but surely, we started coming to some consensus," Anderson told ABC News about her relationship. "We still argue sometimes, but we're coming closer to understanding each other's perspectives."

"When it comes down to it, we're people and we love each other and that's what matters most," she added.

Meanwhile, Arab-Israeli tensions have erupted into vicious combat in the Gaza Strip.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BsmTRwmIIAA1GfS.jpg:large">

Anderson, 29, is the daughter of Terry Anderson, the former Middle East bureau chief for the Associated Press who was held prisoner by the Islamic militant group now known as Hezbollah for nearly seven years. She's writing a book about what happened to her father.

"I've had a pretty intimate experience with how much hate can wreck lives in the Middle East," said Anderson, who splits her time between New York and Beirut.

Her love life has been tested, too. Anderson's boyfriend, who has dual citizenship in America and Israel, grew up strictly Orthodox and his family is "decidedly uncool" with their relationship, she said.

But his family has more of a problem with her not being Jewish than with her being Arab, Anderson added. Her boyfriend declined to provide his name for this article.

Anderson hopes the #JewsAndArabsRefuseToBeEnemies campaign helps people understand what's really at stake during war: people.

"What really excites me is that there are people whose perspectives I don't share, from the pro-Israeli side, who have retweeted our picture and others, and that's what's really important to me," she said. "Not so much that people agree with us, but that people who don't agree with us are sharing this message."

Abraham Gutman and Dania Darwish, both students at Hunter College in New York, launched the hashtag less than two weeks ago, prompting people from both sides to share messages and photos representing peace.

"The campaign exists in a sense in Israel, the slogan has been alive for years in Hebrew," Gutman told ABC News. "We wanted to use that same slogan, to strengthen it, to show the international community that we don't have to be enemies."

Gutman, from Tel Aviv, Israel, says he doesn't always agree with Darwish, who is Syrian, when it comes to Middle Eastern politics, but that the two are good friends.

"We never felt that our discussion became rude or had a tone of hate," the 23-year-old said. "But with Israel and Gaza, it seems that the tone online and on social media is harsher and harsher and people are using more violent words. We wanted to produce a voice that counters that. We can disagree, but we must be able to diffuse the hate."

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BsYvH3HCMAA5lFw.jpg">

Darwish, 21, hopes the campaign gives both Arabs and Israelis a safe forum to talk about political issues.

"We are trying to send the message that hate should not be part of the dialogue," she said. "We should watch our language, we should watch what we say to others. There's a lot of pain, a lot of tension in the Palestine-Israel conflict, but we're trying to create an online community where people with different opinions can talk in a respectful and productive way."

ROMERO,

THANKS FOR A GREAT POSTING. THATS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE ARAB AND JEW TOGETHER. TOO BAD THE ISRAELI GOVT IS CONTROLLED BY WHAT THEY HAVE NOW. THERE MIGHT BE HOPE BUT INDISCRIMINATE BOMBING AND KILLING WON'T GET US THERE. PALESTINIANS ARE ONLY PROTECTING THEMSELVES. KIND OF LIKE THE JEWS TRIED WHEN THE NAZIS SURROUNDED THE WARSAW GHETTO.

The Palestinians dea babie strategy is explained here. It is directed at those who don't have a clue. Thinking people realise the decietfulness of the muslims surrounding themselves with woman and children when they fire bombs into Israel in hopes of illiciting sympathy from the political correct clueless wonders. Cheng Zi was there but obviously he never really got out there and knows the place at all.

This has been called Hamas's "dead baby strategy." It deliberately puts Israel to the tragic choice of attacking the rockets and killing some children who are used as human shields, or refraining from attacking the rockets and thereby placing its own children at risk. Israel has generally chosen the option of refraining from attacking legitimate military targets, but when any human shields are inadvertently killed or injured, Hamas stands ready to cynically parade the dead civilians in front of television cameras, which transmit these gruesome pictures around the world with captions blaming Israel.

Hamas has adamantly refused to build bomb shelters for its civilian population. It has built shelters but has limited access to them to Hamas terrorists. This is precisely the opposite of what Israel does – building shelters for its civilians and placing its soldiers in harm's way.

Most recently Hamas has forced or encouraged civilians to stand on the rooftops of military targets so as to prevent Israel from attacking these entirely appropriate targets. Indeed a lawsuit is now being brought in Israel, against the Israeli military, urging it to ignore these human shields and to attack the military targets.

The argument is that unless the military targets are attacked, Israeli civilians will die, and a democracy has the obligation to prefer the lives of its own civilians over the lives of enemy civilians. Thus far the Israeli military has refrained from attacking military targets that are protected by human shields. There is absolutely no symmetry between the war crimes committed by Hamas and the entirely appropriate military response by the Israel Defense Forces.

Myth 3: Mahmoud Abbas is part of the solution, not part of the problem.

Reality: Mahmoud Abbas has become part of the problem, especially in recent days. He has supported Hamas in its war crimes against Israeli civilians and has characterized Israel's self-defense actions as "genocide" against all of the Palestinian people. I have met Abbas and found him to be a decent man who genuinely wants a peaceful solution to the conflict, but he is not a man of courage who is prepared to stand up and tell the Palestinian people the truth about the current conflict.

His willingness to join together with Hamas in a governmental partnership demonstrates both his weakness and his willingness to be complicit with evil. He speaks out of two sides of his mouth, one side when he speaks in English to Western media and diplomats, and the other when he speaks in Arabic to the Palestinian street, which he knows contains many supporters of Hamas. His public support for Hamas has made it far more difficult for Israel to arrive at a negotiated solution with the PA. It has also made it more difficult for Hamas to stop the rocket barrage and agree to a cease-fire.

The entire civilized world should be standing behind Israel as it defends itself against war crimes. That so many continue to support – or remain silent about – those who commit these war crimes tells us something deeply disturbing about their values and prejudices.

UNWARRENTED ATTACKS LIKE WHAT OBVIOUS LI WROTE? THATS FUNNY.

JOE1

DEAD BABY STRATAGY....THAT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING THE ISRAELIS WOULD COME UP WITH. THEY ALWAYS USE THE EXCUSE THAT HAMAS HIDES AMONG CIVILIANS. THAT HAS NEVER BEEN PROVEN BY ISRAEL. THEY ARE LIARS AND VERY GOOD AT PROPOGANDA...THEY LEARNED FROM THE BEST...USA...

THE ENTIRE CIVILIZED WORLD AT THE UN HAS TOLD ISRAEL TO STOP THE SLAUGHTER. THEY ARE NOT AND NEVER WILL STAND BEHIND THEM.
