It's funny that when you look at Europe of the 14th and 15th centuries, the European powers and their people had a very good grasp of what Islam was all about. In places like Spain and Hungary and Romania, centuries of warfare was waged in an effort to throw the forces of Islam out of Europe. Then along comes the late 20th century with all the so called enlightened liberal and socialist assholes and they cluelessly allowed the forces of Islam to flood into every corner of Europe like a plague.



One has to wonder just WTF happened to European attitudes toward Islam between the 15th and 20th centuries. In this respect it would appear that as time went by Europeans either became apathetic or just plain ignorant in regard to the vile nature of Islam and it's mindless followers. You really have to wonder when are they going to shed that incredibly dangerous and stupid social concept of multiculturism and get with the program. You cannot have multiculturalism with a people who think of themselves as Muslims first and citizens of their country of residence second.  

 

At this point the safest and best thing the EU can do is band together and make it so socially and economically inhospitable for Muslims to live and work in Europe that they either riot or leave. Either reaction gives the governments of the EU license to take the kind of action needed to deal with the Islamic problem. Throw them all out or kill them. It may sound unthinkable but IMHO violent social upheaval over the Muslim issue in Europe is coming one way or another.

I agree with you that the cultural war between "enlightened" Europe and Muslim culture is inevitable. Islam is simply incompatible with Western liberalism.



However, other than Ottoman wars with Europe and Barbary pirates, did Europe really know what Islam "was all about"? I thought England had friendly relations with the Middle East in the early 16th century? Turkish fashions were popular with the higher classes in England. Muslim women were highly admired by English men during the Renaissance.



Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think historic relations were always frosty?

It amazes me how unsophisticated some people are at least psychologically. They realize the holocaust was wrong, they know it's wrong to enslave black people and understand the civil rights movement was necessary. They know apartheid in South Africa was wrong they know all these past atrocities were wrong. But here they are today repeating the same mistakes of the past all over again but this time against Muslims. And probably tomorrow they will find a new boogyman. The human race is still very backward indeed.
