The growing cynicism towards the Canadian dream has become palpable.

Canada was once a land where starry-eyed dreamers sought prosperity. That is no longer the case. Hope has been dimmed by the harsh economic realities created by the current Liberal government.

The erasure of the Canadian dream is not a distant observation; it's a reality I've seen unfold across generations, from my parents to my children.

My father chose to come to Canada from Ireland, captivated by its promise. For most of his life, this dream seemed attainable. He and my mother started from nothing, built a small business and shaped their local economy, laying the foundations of the Canada we know today.

They instilled in us—their children—a belief that anything is possible with hard work and ambition.

Decades later, this landscape has shifted. The country they built is now unrecognizable, and the very promise that brought them here seems a distant memory.

Now, in their twilight years, as they navigate long-term care, they find themselves abandoned within a deteriorating health-care system, a direct consequence of the Liberal government's policies that have underfunded essential services. The Trudeau government has left my parents and their fellow seniors behind.

This neglect is not unique to my parents' generation. During the pandemic, small business owners like me faced the devastating consequences of government-imposed lockdowns. Though restrictions have been lifted, the impact of those measures lingers, a testament to this government's failure to support small businesses.

Those of us still striving to keep our businesses afloat are further burdened by the indifference of the Trudeau Liberals, who seem disconnected from our struggles and hostile towards the SME community.

The era of Canadians building businesses, bolstering local economies, and enriching communities seems a relic of the past. Now, the carbon tax threatens to destroy any Canadians' ambition to run a small business effectively. These businesses, already operating on razor-thin margins, face additional regulatory burdens despite having already endured heavy pandemic restrictions. Yet, the Trudeau government persists with their agenda, oblivious to the challenges we face.

The dream that once captivated my parents, which they passed down to me, is a distant fantasy to my kids and their generation. Now in their 20s and 30s, Millennials and Gen-Z find themselves effectively locked out of the housing market. Despite any new jobs and salary increases, the escalating cost of living and soaring housing prices are always one step ahead.

A dignified life requires a roof over your head. Supporting our younger generation means dismantling the barriers they face accessing the housing market. Yet, Trudeau is incessant on doing the opposite. Increased bureaucracy, stalled home building, and an influx of new residents will only exacerbate the housing crisis for young people.

With a shortage of affordable housing options, our younger generations won't be able to start families, live in communities they grew up in, or contribute and build their local economies.

Although the Canadian dream has waned for all Canadians, it has not disappeared. The broad-based support for Pierre Poilievre signals change. The Canadian dream unites every generation: living happily in your twilight years, growing your business and local economy, and buying a home to raise a family in. This dream may be foreign to young people, but I genuinely believe it's still possible for them.

Looking toward 2025, there's real hope that Poilievre will reinvigorate this dream. His vision promises enhanced support for aging Canadians like my parents, reduced regulations on small businesses, and a future that reignites excitement and optimism among the youth.

The Canadian dream is on life-alert. I firmly believe Poilievre and the Conservative Party of Canada can resurrect it.

Take my state for example, they passed a law making AR-15's and other such declared "assault rifles" illegal and required them to all be registered by Jan 1st 2024. Compliance didnt even reach 6%. They've been told to fuk off and die.
