The picture across Canada is grim. Youth unemployment sits near 14%. Tim Hortons has been nicknamed "Singh Hortons." Food bank usage is surging. Homelessness is through the roof.

It's quite simple: temporary means temporary. If you came as a foreign worker or an international student, you are a guest, not a permanent resident in waiting. And if you embrace terrorism rather than denounce it, you are not welcome here. Full stop.

Canada's multiculturalism experiment made an unspoken promise: come here, pursue the Canadian dream — but obey the law and do not import your old-world hatreds. That promise has been catastrophically broken. It's time to reverse course.
