Actor Mel Gibson has offered a conspiracy theory over the 'convenient' circumstances surrounding the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.

Gibson questioned in an odd moment with Fox News' Laura Ingraham if the ruinous fires were 'commissioned' in order to move people off valuable property.

'I can make all kinds of horrible theories up in my head, conspiracy theories and everything else, but it just seemed a little convenient that there was no water,' Gibson said. 'And that the wind conditions were right and that there are people ready and willing and able to start fires.'

The Max Max star then questioned if the theorized fire starters were 'commissioned' or 'just acting on their own volition'. 'But they seem pretty well equipped. Some of these people that they're catching,' he added.

'I know they were missing with the water, letting reserves go for one reason or another. They've been doing that a while. California has a lot of problems that sort of baffle the mind as far as why they do things.'

"The free press is crumbling. Pillars are disappearing. Social media is giving up on fact checking," Biden said. Truth is smothered by lies, told for power and for profit. We must hold the social platforms accountable, to protect our children, our families in a very democracy from the abuse of power."

Biden's administration has also tried to address the rise of artificial intelligence, including with largely voluntary initiatives by major firms like OpenAI to establish safeguards. But despite months of sessions devoted to the concerns over AI, Congress never passed any significant law.

"Unless safeguards are in place, AI could spawn new threats to our right, our way of life, to our privacy, how we work and how we protect our nation," Biden said. "We must make sure AI and safe and trustworthy."

Trump White House: 'Mystery' Drones over New Jersey Were Authorized by the FAA



The "mystery" drones flying over New Jersey and other parts of the country were authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced Tuesday during the first press briefing of the second Trump administration.

"Before I turn to questions, I do have news directly from the President of the United States that was just shared with me in the Oval Office," Leavitt said.

"From President Trump directly, an update on the New Jersey drones," she said. "After research and study, the drones that were flying over New Jersey, in large numbers, were authorized to be flown by the FAA for research and various other reasons."

However, she did not elaborate on what this "research" entailed, nor what the "various other reasons" meant, specifically. She did add that some of the drones were "also hobbyists, recreational and private individuals that enjoy flying drones."

"It's a statement from the President of the United States to start this briefing with some news," she added before taking questions.
