Do not mess with Gladiator. That is my all time favorite movie. "At my signal, unleash hell." I use that often myself.  



Of course it does not have to be accurate to the science. It is meant to be a drama. He rode a horse all the way back to his family because he feared for their lives. Nothing was going to stop him not even a tired horse or a wound.

It would have been plausible if it wasnt for the bleeding wound.
