Linda Rondstat and Pat Benatar were my faves...

I really like others as mentioned in this thread too...

But the abilities of those girls (sometimes rarely tapped) were amazing.

Linda went on to sing some dulcet shit before her disease stopped her. Pat could pull off any style including blues.

But if Johomo agrees with anything I've ever said, I may have to kill myself

Lab Flaker

Quote from: JOE on September 16, 2024, 07:01:30 AMI liked the EARLY Stevie Nicks when she was paired up with Lindsay Buckingham.

They were this Folk duo.

However She/They couldn't make it in this perhaps overcrowded genre. Their early efforts were not well received by fans or critics. And yet these may have been some of her better works/recordings.

For example - an early version of Sorcerer -

Taylor Swift makes money from breaking up with her exes and whining about them. While Stevie Nicks forces her ex to sit down and play guitar while she ridicules him. That's real girl power right there sunshine!

I'm not really a Stevie Nick's fan either just that 1 rendition of 'Sorcerer' I thought was a very good song on its own avatar_Lab Flaker Lab Flaker & its chord structure is complex & somewhat unique.

Conjures up images from those old Conan the Barbarian comic books.

....Sorcerer!

I'm tired
I'm thirsty
I'm wild-eyed
In my misery

Timeless in your finery
It's a high price
For your luxury

Sorcerer
Who is the master
A man and woman on a star stream
In the middle of a snow dream
Sorcerer
Show me the high life
Come over
Let me put you on ice

All around black ink darkness
And who found lady from the mountains
All around black ink darkness
And who found lady from the mountains
Lady from the mountains

I'm tired
I need you badly
I'm wild-eyed
In my misery

Timeless in your finery
It's a high price
For your luxury

I still think her early work as part of the band The Sugar Cubes is her best stuff, overall.

I agree with your post. But, we will have to agree to disagree about her as an artist.
