The US is still saying a deal is coming.

Reuters reports that the two sides have reached agreement on a memorandum of understanding to extend their ceasefire for 60 days, but Trump has yet to approve it.

The Trump administration has several times said that a deal to still the fighting was close only to have Iran dispute or downplay the claims.

In recent days, Trump has come under pressure from Iran hawks in his own party, who have urged him not to make any agreement that fails to immediately address Iran's nuclear program.

Mr.Trump appears to be leaning on Mr. Netanyahu to help him make a peace deal.

Iranian negotiators have shown increasing willingness to negotiate over aspects of their nation's nuclear program, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio told senators on June 2.

"For the first time, certainly in my memory, they have agreed to negotiate aspects of their nuclear program that just a month ago, or just a year ago, they were refusing to even mention, much less enter into discussions about," Rubio said in testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Last week, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a set of terms for a deal he was considering with Iran.

The terms Trump described would have allowed U.S. access to damaged Iranian nuclear facilities to recover and dispose of highly enriched uranium. He said the deal would also see the full restoration of maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and the lifting of a U.S. blockade of Iranian ports.

Following Trump's announcement, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said U.S. and Iranian negotiators were continuing to exchange messages but that they had not reached a final agreement.

An Iranian regime intelligence official has warned that Iran would attempt to block shipping traffic in another waterway if the Israeli military continues to launch strikes against Hezbollah or in Gaza.

Esmail Qaani, the head of the Iranian Quds Force, an intelligence agency under the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), claimed that Iran would attempt to close the Bab al-Mandab Strait, which would echo Iran's move to effectively block traffic in the Strait of Hormuz since hostilities started.

The Bab al‑Mandab Strait is between Yemen and the Horn of Africa. It connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden and is considered a critical shipping waterway. The Houthi terrorist group, based in Yemen, launched attacks on shipping in the Red Sea and in the Bab al-Mandab Strait starting in 2023, prompting a U.S. military response.

The Houthi terrorist group looks like a ragtag team of unorganised chaos! A sniper team should just take them out and have a bit of fun doing it!

In case there was any doubt, I want to go on record as wanting us to continue bombing Iran, land an invasion team at the nuke site, and continue to assassinate ALL their "leaders" until they completely capitulate.

He was opposed to it from day one. I was neutral at first. Now I see this operation as a failure.

The US House, on June 3, passed a resolution to withdraw U.S. troops from armed hostilities with Iran.

Lawmakers voted 215–208 for the Democrat-led measure. Four Republicans voted with Democrats in support of the resolution.

The four Republicans who defected were Reps. Tom Barrett (R-Mich.), Warren Davidson (R-Ohio), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.), and Thomas Massie (R-Ky).

Good. This is Trump's biggest failure.

I would love to see Mr. Trump wipe out the entire Iranian Islamic regime. But, that would be political suicide for his party.
