Given that the economy is that dependent on more effective control of the border (along with fixing the results of its effective non-existence over the last four years, pushing illegals back across it) I don't see anything "second place" about his prioritisation at all. It seems more to me like Trump is bothering to "show his working out" and presenting a coherent strategy that we're simply not seeing out of Kumdumpula when she mentions "the economy" as a precursor to some unrelated anecdotal waffle about her childhood.

Of course Trump could go further in outlining his plan, but I'm satisfied the premise is there; promising an economic fix is predicated on the relative absence of a bunch of non-citizens mooching off the tax coffers the citizenry are contributing to. Among other things of course, but border security is a significant aspect of it. By tackling the question of illegals, he's also taking on the question of the economy and if demonstrated track records are anything to go by, I'm prepared to accept the economy is going to fare a lot better under his hand than it otherwise would under Kumguzzla's.

Inflation is caused primarily by corporate greed.
Even Kroger had to recently admit they raised prices beyond what was necessary just because they could, and wanted to jack up higher dividends for their shareholders. As all big corporations do. If a company is both buying back stock and laying off workers it's pretty clear they're operating in service to capital, not consumers.

If inflation and corporate profits both spike at the same time that shit ain't happening because of wages (which are undeniably far behind productivity and the cost of living) or anything else having to do with consumers. It's simply a wealth transfer to the people who need it the fucking least.
