Inflation is mainly caused by flooding fiat money supplies, not corporate greed.

Commies always blame corporate greed over government greed.

It's actually quite simple and a question of supply and demand. A corporation can jack their prices up the yin yang, if there is no corresponding increase in the money supply to feed it, people will simply buy less of the corporations product, in turn providing less reason for the corporation to produce product and ultimately their reason to exist at all.

Inflating the amount of tokens (money) in circulation that might be used to exchange for the products and services... this is the essence of inflation. With the money supply vested firmly in the hands of the government, it is the government that is responsible for inflation and not "the corporations". The coporations can lobby for an increase in the supply, they cannot increase the supply off their own bat.

Now, it is true that a corporation might induce a scarcity of the product or service they provide, driving up the price of their product, they may even collude with other corporate entities to "price fix", but if the money remains finite, the corporation quickly runs out of wriggle room to produce profit for their shareholders. They are also leaving the door open for someone to come in and undercut them with similar product/service. You show me one corporation that wants that outcome. I'm not aware of any myself.

It is also true there are those individuals in the public that produce nothing, yet open their beaks wide like a bunch of nested hatchlings and squawk to receive "their fair and equitable share". Again, assuming the government does not pander to their welfare whims by inflating the money supply for the purposes of communistic redistribution, inflation cannot occur since the money tokens and the supply of products and services is remaining static.

Bottom line, while greed drives the market for inflation, only one entity can provide that inflation and that entity, like it or lump it, is government. It is the government that is responsible for inflation and the government only.

I'm glad we had this discussion.

Even Kroger had to recently admit they raised prices beyond what was necessary just because they could, and wanted to jack up higher dividends for their shareholders. As all big corporations do. If a company is both buying back stock and laying off workers it's pretty clear they're operating in service to capital, not consumers.

If inflation and corporate profits both spike at the same time that shit ain't happening because of wages (which are undeniably far behind productivity and the cost of living) or anything else having to do with consumers. It's simply a wealth transfer to the people who need it the fucking least.
Normally I would agree with that, but not with the COVID pandemic. Governments messed around with supply chains and we still haven't got them back to where they were. The war in Ukraine has not helped either. Not the war itself, but the sanctions and further disrupting supply chains.

I thought democrats spent more and wasted money.

TRUMP said on one of his speeches he was going to clean up government waste.

He hates the thought Bozo Biden wasted 80 million dollars of military money in Afghanistan.

Trump is not going to waste hundreds of billions transferring wealth from the middle class to Dem friendly econ elites in the form of green subsidies. That is pure crony capitalism.

On the other hand, Trump will not make cuts to infrastructure(real infrastructure, not the waste in Biden's bill), social security benefits, Medicare, or Medicaid. He may even extend tax credits for parental leave, child care and subsidize prescription drugs. He is not a fiscal conservative. But, he does know that there is waste in Washington-lots of it too. Can he get Congress to cut the waste? That will be hard as they haven't cut anything since the 90's.

Inflation is caused by an increase in costs. That could be due to taxes, wages, supply disruptions, energy. There are other possible reasons, but those are the main ones.

Loblaws is by far the biggest retail grocer in Canada through their various brands. Their profits have soared over the past half decade. But, their profit margins have remained fairly constant over the past decade. In other words, their sales volume has increased, but their profits per item sold have not.

Trump is trying to reverse a clear slide toward oblivion.

And the funny thing about it, the slide will destroy the entire western world if he or someone like him doesn't do it, the entire western world is a failed state.

If Trump isn't elected, we're going to be physically fighting one another for any resource very soon.

Getting the cart before the horse, mate. Inflation promotes an increase in costs, not the other way around. Basic economics of supply and demand. An increase of money in circulation without a corresponding increase of things to spend it on leads to an increase in prices. More money competing for the same stock level, price go up.

You want price go down? Stop printing money, make more shit. If you can't make more shit and someone else can, they get to undercut your price and you go hungry.

Come on, you saw this crap in action during the lockdowns, don't tell me you don't know how this game works. Remember how much people were prepared to pay for shit tickets when they were flying off the shelves during lockdowns... and work backwards from there.

You'll get another reason to hate Justin Truedeaup, I promise.

The Democrats are more wasteful. But, Republicans in congress usually go along with excessive Democratic spending.
