Fixing America’s Immigration System

Heres are some sggestions on how to fix the US immigration system

1. Provide law abiding gainfully employed undocemented migants with a choice. Register with the INS or else accept deportation

2. Then issue them with a new classification -a 1 year non immigrant renewable working 'X' visas but restricted only to certain jobs like farmhands, domestics and unskilled labor. In other words low paying jobs Americans dont usually want.  And they would be monitored regularly to make sure they are restricted to the occupations the visas allow. Where local jobs by citizens are threatened by migrant workers or an American wants them they wouldnt be allowed to take those jobs

3. Prohibit their access to professional or high skilled trades jobs. Those breaking this rule would be fired & deported

4. Make them pay international fees to access hospitals or the education system. They would be required to pay taxes but as temporary residents ineligible for state benefits like social security etc. only citizens and permanebt residents could get them

5. Stipulate that they cannot ever apply for citizenship or permanent residency with this visa nor progress to a higher grade one

6. Eliminate automatic citizenship by birthing especially for illegal immgrants. The UK closed this loophole. So should the US

7. Provide a path to citizenship for those lower end migrants willing to serve at least 7 years military service. Aka theyd be expected to fight in wars too. I think this already was done in the past & would be like Americas equivalent of the French foreign legion.

I agree that the US shouldnt give away citizenship or high paying skilled jobs that American workers need.

I understand that many Americans dont like these ideas but the mass deportations of millions of low skilled workers have even drawn criticism from Republicans and employers.

We never had automatic citizenship like America in the first place..

Children born in Australia, with a birth certificate issued in Australia, are not automatically Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents. To be an Australian citizen, at least one parent must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia at the time of the child's birth.
