....from the horses' mouth of Trump's very own ally, Fox News:

So...unbiased not fake news, folks.

So?

If countries won't stop illegal immigration, they get slugged with a 25% tariff. If China doesn't stop importing fentanyl, they get a further 10% tariff.

Good for the US.

But how will these tarrifs affect nations which don't have any beef with China?

Like if electronic goods are made in China and imported into Canada, Canadians shouldn't be affected by the Trump tarrifs if our government isn't imposing extra duties on Chiense goods.

Or do the Trump tarrifs affect Canada as well with respect to China?

Would Canada be obligated to impose duties on China?

Are we obligated by the same trade treaties with China as the United States?

Or would they impose higher prices on Canada anyway due to the Trump tarrifs?

This might be an issue with let's say pc graphics cards made in China.

If US is imposing duties but Canada isn't, wouldn't something like an AMD/NVIDIA graphics card be cheaper if purchased in Canada than if it bought at a store in the USA after 2025?

What are you on about? US tariffs only apply to incoming goods from offending nations.

but not coming into Canada, right?

You see, that's why it's critical from the standpoint of a consumer.

Say I'd like to buy a high end Nikon camera from China/Japan

since Trump plans to impose 10-25% tarrifs of goods entering the US, the same camera would be up to 25% higher in the US than Canada.

Is that a correct interpretation?

Or am I missing something?

Interesting that Trump never mentioned Australia avatar_Frood Frood

It's as if he considers Australia more closely aligned with the USA than Canada.

Perhaps he expects you guys to participate in more foreign wars with them like Iraq.

Or wants more US military bases/presence in Australia, eh?

so he won't lay on the wood on the Aussies.

Frood

.
Tell your pussy communistic dick suckers like Trudeau to buy direct from Asia...

No fucks given otherwise.

Time to tell Canada to put on its big boy pants.
