Quote from: J E B Stuart on November 22, 2025, 09:40:17 PMUnless you're a fan of The Outlaws, it is unlikely this song has ever been on your radar. From their first album, it was never released as a single. The first time I heard it was as a cover by a band performing where I worked as a bouncer. I liked it so much, I had to find out who did it. And I certainly did:

Amen.
Hughie Thomasson was in Skynyrd for almost ten years.

Valencia Spain is home to the Deaf Devils, a band I had no idea existed until about 24 hours ago. They're a 3-piece unit with a female lead singer named Lucyfer. Anyway, I stumbled across this number and I like it. Play it LOUD:

Amen.
Deo vindice

I'm sure y'all have had this same experience - you're watching a TV show or movie and a song (frequently just a snippet) you've never heard before catches your ear in a good way. Well, Meat Wave is a 3-piece unit formed in 2011. They've recorded four albums but mainstream success appears to have eluded them thus far. This song is featured in S8 E7 of The Rookie and it caught my ear:

Amen.
Deo vindice

I've previously posted a coupla songs by Roxy Blue in the song dedication thread. Like I said then, there isn't a single throw away song on their "Want Some?" album. Here's another gem:

I listened to the first ten seconds. It starts off like Fight the Good Fight by Triumph.

You're missing out if you don't listen to the whole song. Among other things, it has some serious shredding. Vocals are damn good, too.

Ol' Jeb won't steer ya wrong, old bean. Just sayin'.

I will listen to all of it tonight when I have a few thimbles of swish in me.

Every song you've posted from that album has been pretty good.

I looked up the band. This was their only ablum. They disbanded after it was released.

Yeah, although according to Wiki they reformed years later and self-recorded another:

". . . Roxy Blue is an American hard rock band from Memphis, Tennessee. The band released their debut album Want Some? on Geffen Records in 1992 but disbanded shortly afterwards. The band later reformed and released a self-titled album on Frontiers Records in 2019. . . ."

I haven't listened to anything on that one. Maybe I'll get around to it.

Amen.
