HENRY COUNTY, IL — Two Canadians were stopped by police during the holiday weekend with over $40 million worth of cocaine — or more than 1,100 pounds — in a commercial truck in western Illinois, authorities said.

Vanshpreet Signh, 27, and Manpreet Singh, 36, both of Ontario, were approached by a trooper around 2:10 p.m. Friday on eastbound Interstate 80 in rural Henry County, according to police.

A search of the semitrailer revealed roughly 1,146 pounds of cocaine and the pair were taken into custody and brought to Henry County Jail, police said, adding the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's Chicago Field Division assisted in the investigation.

Vanshpreet and Manpreet Singh were charged with cocaine trafficking, cocaine possession and possession with intent to deliver, according to police.

They were. In Indonesia they'd be waiting on death row for the execution by firing squad.

They would not have been able to get the drugs across the border..

I have seen the customs between Canada and the US....they have equipment and dogs that check trucks.

That amount of drugs, they pay off border guards, usually. DRUGGIES get plenty of drugs in jail.

I know at border crossings between Canada and the US all trucks are examined and they use dogs........how do they pay off a drug sniffing dog.

Well I have no idea but drugs still get into Canada don't they?

What is the most trafficked drug in Canada?

While cannabis derivatives such as marijuana and hashish are the major illicit drugs of choice in Canada, cocaine (including crack) is also quite popular, with the number of cocaine users estimated at over 250,000.

They enter Canada through non entry ports.....there are many places across this continent one can simply walk across the border..

Cannabis derivatives are perfectly legal in Canada and sold at cannabis shops everywhere.
