I always got a laugh out of this tune.

Ray Price was a country hit machine. I can't pick an absolute favorite song of his, but this is one of 'em:

Amen.
Deo vindice

Formed in 2007, Lady A was known as Lady Antebellum until 2020.  They pussed out and made the name change on the heels of the George Floyd riots, due to its supposed association with slavery.  Well, fuck that ridiculous noise. They'll always be Lady Antebellum to me. I've seen 'em twice and, despite being pussies, they're damn good. This was their first country hit, reaching #3:

Amen.
Deo vindice

Travis Tritt is a good ol' Georgia boy made good. In fact, he's a one man hit machine. This great tune made it to #2 in 2000:

Amen.

From Ohio, Earl Thomas Conley passed in 2019. He left behind a big legacy of #1 and top-40 hits. Released in 1983, this poignant song was his fourth #1 hit:

Amen.
Deo vindice

J E B Stuart

I coulda posted this cover in the covers thread, but after careful reflection, I decided it belonged here. Chris LeDoux died from cancer in 2005 at the young age of 56. But, I am here to tell ya - Chris was a genuine cowboy. Among many other accomplishments, he won world champion bareback rider in 1976.  This is his righteous cover of Tom Cochrane's classic song, "Life Is A Highway":

Amen.

Yea, fuk them assholes. I'd have rather they changed their name to "The Slavers".

I dunno. I'm inclined to think The Coitus Interruptors is a bit catchier.

Amen.
