Many Canadians have been quick to criticize Gretzky for his close association with Trump:


But is this really a bad thing?

I think the opposite

Maybe it's good. Because G might prevent Trump from punishing Canada too much.

Gretzky is the face of Canada Trump evidently adores. So perhaps Gretzky is more of an asset than a liability to Canada. A goodwill ambassador that makes Trump think Canada is still not a hostile nation to him

Trump adores Gretzky as much as he hates Mexico.

So keep his hate South of the border not North, e
