Glass the entire Middle east with atomics and use the irradiated survivors as a slave race to pump the oil.

Better yet, produce more Canadian conflict free oil.

Cheaper to let the Saudi's pump and refine it for us, not the least because three quarters of their oil reserves are sweet crude, way cheaper and easier to turn into gasoline than the sulfur rich stuff you'd be pulling out of the Alberta tar sands. Why else do you think the petrodollar has survived so long?

It is dirt cheap to produce Saudi oil. But, it comes with a huge security price that Western Canadian Select does not.

It is a stable supply that geopolitically is very low maintenance.

Correct. Mind you, it's not just oil that passes through the Suez Canal; quit paying the security price and there's every chance a Houthi attack or similar could effectively shut down that route and force shipping to take the long way around Africa, a journey that is altogether much more difficult to assure security for. Result: price increases on a wide variety of consumables which the purchaser will necessarily wear.

You might also consider that if the House of Saud no longer does business with the US, they will do business with... someone else. I mean you can't seriously expect these sand-niggers to say "oh, fair enough, we just won't pump it." Pigs arse they won't! No, I imagine they will get awfully chummy with China and a few of the other BRICS nations; something which looked like a fait accompli when Biden reneged on his agreement to refuel the US oil reserves at the dip, like the two faced shit he is.

Like it or not, we are beholden to that agreement; we welch on it and the Saudis can make life Very Interesting for us out here in the west. And it doesn't matter who inked the agreement or when, it was done in the name of the US and it is the US that must abide by it. If the Afghanistan collapse taught us nothing else, these people value the argeements that are made; fuck with them at your own peril.
