I loved ripping on Obi... he just took it in stride and was happy to run things. He was a good fucking mod/admin. Perhaps one of the best. He had high levels of emotional IQ as well as a sense of humour.

When I met him in 1997 at the "KOF" get-together he wasn't even officially a "knight" yet but he was already part of that community. He was, if anything, even funnier and more engaging in person than his online persona suggested.

And he mostly responded to stuff like an old fashioned switchboard operator.

...which made it really difficult to get under his skin...

...because those old fashioned switchboard operators listened in and had opinions... yet, Obi, to his credit, resisted.

Any moment I could see him show bias either towards my thinking or against, was a WIN-WIN for me.
