Quote from: Brent on May 21, 2025, 12:24:48 PMThe only way new pipelines are going to be built is if Alberta leaves Canada. Carney's main advisor Gerald Butts has made that clear.

And then Alberta will be owned by the large corporations & told what ta do by Washington DC.

Same situation as before just different masters.

Plus they'll just milk Alberta for all it's worth only worse than what Ottawa does currently avatar_Brent Brent.

Nothing changes just because a province switches allegiances. Same issues remain & the obligations become more severe.

If Alberta feels bullied now itd be even worse if they were part of the USA.

There is no equalization to buy votes in the US. And you have a triple E senate. If we get rid of the first and adopt the second Alberta and Saskatchewan would be as rich as Alaska, North Dakota or Texas.

Quote from: Thiel on May 21, 2025, 01:33:21 PMSpeaking of Liberal Party lies, inflation was at it's lowest level in a very long time in the month of April. There is one reason only for that - dropping the consumer carbon tax.

Remember for years the Trudeau government said their "price on pollution" was not inflationary? They lied.

But, don't worry, inflation will go up again and by design. When Mr Carney implements his industrial carbon tax and border adjustment mechanism which is essentially a carbon tariff on imports, Canadians will be forced to pay more for everything.
Our premier is refusing to collect Conman Carney's industrial carbon tax. :good:

Sugarplum I explained to you after you game me oral sex this morning that even if AOC became president it would be impossible for Washingtom to trample Alberta the way your Liberal Party has. An elected senate, no equalization scams and a constitution that clearly defines the roles of the federal and state governments keeps oil rich states like Alaska and North Dakota from being bullied by Democratic presidents.

North Dakota has a GDP per capita of $94,021. Saskatchewan right across the border and sharing the same Bakken oilfield is only $67, 221 per year. Even Alberta, the highest in Canada is $71,564.

North Dakota has no state income tax or sales tax. They have a massive sovereign wealth fund because they do not have to give $20 billion dollars a year to states that do not develop their resources.

Understand now Sweetie, or do you have to get back on your knees.

States with oil are so much better off than Alberta and Saskatchewan.

I used to want an independent Alberta and Saskatchewan. But, Canada is so frickin evil they will cheat us out on what we paid into CPP and screw us over any way they can.

We have to declare independence first and then immediately seek union with the US. They will ensure Canada does not fuck us over.

Of course the USA wants Alberta like prize hey avatar_Herman Herm?

They're $37 Trillion in the hole. The US needs every drop of Alberta oil they can get to keep the American Century going. And they'll squeeze Alberta like a well used dish rag to pay for its massive deficits & bloated Military Industrial Complex.

In which case they wont stop at Alberta. Saskatchewan would be next & after that BC, the Yukon then the North West territories.

Enjoy paying the Empure's Bill's, hey Herm?

Angeldrawers, Washington has kept quiet on the Alberta sovereignty question.

The question is why isn't the federal government of Canada acting like they want the prairie provinces to stay.

The wealth gap between Canada and the U.S. has only grown wider, according to figures published by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Your biggest province has a GDP about the same as West Virginia.

Millions of people in Canada rely on food banks for their daily needs. The American economy grew twenty percent in the last decade while your country's economy grew 1.9 percent.

Paul Beaudry served as deputy governor of the Bank of Canada from 2019 and 2023 and is now a professor at the Vancouver School of Economics at UBC.

"Relative to other countries, we're getting collectively poorer," Beaudry told CBC News. "And it's not only relative to the U.S., it's relative to a lot of other countries. We're in the laggard group."

Canadian consumers are the most indebted in the G20. Nobody wants to invest in Canada.

Even the way Canada calculates net public debt is very misleading. Even worse, your country's gross debt is equal to 111 per cent of our GDP, which isn't good by anyone's standards.

Larry Schembri, a senior fellow at the Fraser Institute and a former deputy governor of the Bank of Canada expects emigration to America to accelerate even if Alberta stays. If it leaves, a broke dysfunctional Canada will beg the US to admit it.

This is why I emigrated from Canada. This is why so many professionals are doing the same.

It'sm shocking how fast Canada has gone down the tube. It's not the country we immigrated to in the 90's. I want my sons to have enjoy the opportunities I had, but that is just not possible in this new third worldish Canada.
