Fun fact: when taxation was introduced in 1913, barely 1% of the US citizenry had to pay tax at all thanks to the exemptions and deductions provided for in the 15th amendment. Effectively it was the rich paying the tax... at a rate of around 1% of income.

Which makes me chuckle a little, since the same type of imbecile that demanded the rich "pay their fair share" today are the same kind of assclowns that happily took 1% of their wealth over a hundred years ago, effectively opening the floodgates for the grossly outrageous doube dipping and triple dipping today.
