To be honest here. At this point I don't even care if we are infringing on free speech here.

We're doing to them exactly what they've BEEN doing for years now and will continue to do if they regain paper whether we take the high road or not

So might as well enjoy some getback while we can. Fuckem and their tears

I do not care if Disney decides to keep losing money on Jimmy Kimmel's show. They will not do that for very long so even if he does get his job back. He should still keep his resume up to date.

Elon Musk really breaks down Kimmel's firing

Like I said earlier, he's lawyering up but does not stand a chance.

It reminds me of the lesson they should have learned with All in the Family.

All in the Family was meant to be left wing propaganda. But everyone loved Archie and mocked Meathead.

They wanted Archie to be seen as some old fashioned, stuffy, dumb and judgemental character but he was the one loved by Americans.

Its been constantly over estimating the appeal of the left in entertainment.

This isnt any sort of infringement on anyones 1A. No one is prosecuting or killing Kimmel. He just doesnt get to spew his views on network TV anymore.  :drunk2:

If you can stomach it watch Jimmy Kimmel encourage vandalizing random Teslas. If that is not bad enough he says hospitals should refuse treatment of the unvaccinated who show up at hospital ER's having heart attacks.

When you sign an employment contract you agree to abide by company policy. Kimmel violated company policy and was fired for it. Simple enough.

Liberals are so fucking stupid it baffles the mind how they tie their shoes in the morning and manage to make it out alive without hanging themselves in the process

this is what the 1st amendment has to say

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances".

Wherein, the amendment quoted above, is there any provision that mandates a private company must allow an "at will employee" the right to voice publicly opinions and beliefs contrary to their stated policies and/or positions. Especially when such opinions are detrimental to the business model?

The first amendment applies to GOVERNMENT overreach as it pertains to free speech, freedom of religion and the right to assemble

Meaning, the government cannot infringe on said rights with criminal and/or civil penalties. A private organization is bound by no such statue

What libtards are saying here is tantamount to advocating for someone who is in your home to have the right to say whatever they want inside your home, whether you like it or not, and you have absolutely no right to demand they leave.

wtf?

are liberals really this irretrievably stupid?

Sinclair indicated on Monday that it "will be preempting Jimmy Kimmel Live! across our ABC affiliate stations and replacing it with news programming."

Nexstar reported on Tuesday morning that it too would be holding its ground.

The company said in a statement, "We made a decision last week to pre-empt 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' following what ABC referred to as Mr. Kimmel's 'ill-timed and insensitive' comments at a critical time in our national discourse. We stand by that decision pending assurance that all parties are committed to fostering an environment of respectful, constructive dialogue in the markets we serve."

"In the meantime, we note that 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' will be available nationwide on multiple Disney-owned streaming products, while our stations will focus on continuing to produce local news and other programming relevant to their respective markets," added the statement.

While many on the left are tearfully applauding Jimmy Kimmel's return to the low-rated late-night airwaves, Elizabeth Warren is getting mocked and ridiculed for her histrionic response.

Warren suggested that communications companies had kowtowed to the demands of the Trump administration in order to secure government approval for their business deals and called for an investigation into the matter.

Warren accused them of "possible corruption."

"Kimmel is back, but many Americans won't be able to watch," she wrote. "Two companies — Nexstar and Sinclair — control hundreds of local TV stations and have business deals pending Donald Trump's approval. They won't air Kimmel tonight. I'm pressing for answers on potential corruption."

Warren was mocked and ridiculed by many on the right on social media.

"You people are unbelievable. Not only are we supposed to just accept that he has a constitutional right to a multi-million-dollar a year job starring in a bad TV show that no one watches, now TV operators are also obligated to surrender their discretion to air his show, too?" replied Rafael Mangual of the Manhattan Institute.

"Stifle it, you raging harridan. You didn't so much as offer a peep of complaint when the Biden Administration was forcing social media companies to de-platform citizens for exercising their First Amendment rights," responded another detractor.

"Trump never censored Jimmy Kimmel. It was a business decision by Disney and ABC affiliates. Stop lying to the American public like you did about your race," read another response.
