Expedition 33 is a very good game but my bet for game of the year would be Hollow Knight Silksong. It was produced by the small Australian indi studio Team Cherry, sells for twenty bucks and gamers are raving about it. Puts the AAA studios to shame.

They're not even going to publish the list of nominees until November?

Ah, actually I guess that doesn't matter because I still only have one game installed (GuildWars2) and even then I'm missing at least one expansion pack. Just don't gamer like I used to... kinda always only been a casual though.

I am a humble man of very little consequence.

But you've always been a funny fucker in my book, a book that goes back a good 15years which if you have spent your time wisely is about 1.5million games of Solitaire.

I used to fancy myself a "gamer."  I loved that Bungie game "Marathon" that was the precursor to Halo, I believe.

Then one day I introduced my son, who was like 9 at the time, to this space game I'd downloaded from somewhere. I'd spent weeks playing it and was so proud of myself because I had a cool ship and weapons and a few million credits built up.

My son played it for half a day and had the best ships, a personal fleet and over a trillion credits.

I kinda realized I wasn't much of a gamer after that.
