I'm making brown rice vermicelli with firm tofu and vegetables in a Japanese miso broth for meatless Monday.

We grilled top sirloin steaks on the Weber yesterday. The afternoon weather was beautiful.

We haven't lost power since the big flood in 2013.

Every 3-10 weeks for us... we've actually started using camping fridge/freezers to solely make ice and run off of 12 volt battery boxes... ice goes into a cooler, valuable freezer items into the 40 litre 12v freezers hooked up to solar, 2k generator, et cetera...

...we've gotten tired of losing bulk food and only getting reimbursed a fraction of it.

Eventually, we plan on being totally off grid. Too much a hassle any more...

Do you live in a metropolitan area?

That shouldn't be happening in a metro area.

Not in a metro area, but zoned as one.... we're one of a few dozen communities which don't get prioritised when power, water, or LPG goes out... we're on the extreme outer band.

We're basically bush yet we get grouped in with Metro Melbourne's Authoritarian Lockdown anyway.

It's criminal. I hope Kim Jong Dan dies from a stroke ASAP...

I thought you lived in Melbourne proper.

We're technically Melbourne on paper but realistically 20 k's away from the start of suburbia.
