Tried making soft pretzels the other day. They turned out well but I'm going to try using lye instead of a baking soda dip the next time.

I make pretzels at home too :)



Have you used lye before?  I never have.

Never. I've always been a bit leery of trying but after watching some instructional videos, I'm going to give it a try.

Good!  Do it :). I just watched a vice video with someone trying a traditional Norwegian fish dish that is cooked in lye.  They said it's very soft.
