It's a nightmare when people think that a corporate reporting structure is a democracy -- it is the hallmark of a competent department head to make it clear that there is a boss that makes decisions and his decisions are final. It's all fine and well to provide input and your input is noted and valued and many times weaved into the ultimate decision.. but make no mistake if I say something is going to be "This way" then it is "this way" and if you don't like it you are welcome to update your resume.
