what these simpletons never seem to realize is that rich people do not earn money the way we earn money and are therefor never subject to the same parameters as it pertains to actual money paid out in taxes

yeah, a 2% increase looks great on paper but if your writeoffs and other maneuvers penned in by your 500.00 an hour CPA firm and your team of tax attorneys make your effective tax rate 8% -  that rate is going to remain constant whether the standard rate in your bracket is 40% 50% or 80%

I always wanted the tax burden to shift to the wealthiest. But, it has not worked in countries like France that have tried it. I don't know anymore what the answer to taxes is.
