They work as long as you keep them clear... no different than feeding a wood stove through a night.

And a gigantic field of them produce about as much electricity for heat as a woodstove.


4x200 watt panels and a pair of 150ah batteries with a sinewave inverter can heat a small space adequately through the night, assuming you have sunlight through the day.



I just run a 200 watt panel with a 130ah battery box and have good sleeping bags and insulation.

Solar panels are okay for houses. You won't power Winnipeg and electric cars with them.

With snow on the panels and the wind mills frozen you're gonna be shit out of luck...LOL  Although you might be able to make a tool that wouldn't do any damage, well except for the sliding snow possibly ripping the panels off.  :laugh:
