The Department of Homeland Security has publicly called out Hilton Hotels over what DHS says was an organized act of obstruction against immigration enforcement.

The agency posted screenshots showing the well-known hotel chain had "maliciously" canceled reservations for DHS officials at a Minneapolis-area location.

"NO ROOM AT THE INN!" reads a statement from DHS on social media.

"[Hilton Hotels] has launched a coordinated campaign in Minneapolis to REFUSE service to DHS law enforcement. When officers attempted to book rooms using official government emails and rates, Hilton Hotels maliciously CANCELLED their reservations. This is UNACCEPTABLE," the agency continued.

"Why is Hilton Hotels siding with murderers and rapists to deliberately undermine and impede DHS law enforcement from their mission to enforce our nation's immigration laws?" the statement concluded.

One of the screenshots of the email responses included a statement from the hotel specifically citing the presence of ICE agents as the reason for the cancellation.

"We have noticed an influx of gov reservations made today that have been made for DHS, and we are not allowing any ICE or immigration agents to stay at our property. If you are with DHS or immigration, let us know as we will have to cancel your reservation," the email read, according to the screenshot.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is seeking a court order for investigating systemic race discrimination allegations against white workers by footwear and apparel corporation Nike Inc., according to a Feb. 4 statement from the agency.

The EEOC filed an action in federal court to compel Nike, headquartered in Oregon, to produce information related to allegations that the company discriminated against white workers as part of its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs.

According to the filing made by EEOC in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, the agency is looking to enforce an administrative subpoena against Nike for failing to submit the required information, which was initially requested in 2024 by then-commissioner, and now chair, Andrea Lucas.

Lucas alleged that Nike, since at least 2020, engaged in "a pattern or practice of disparate treatment against white employees, applicants and training program participants in hiring, promotion, demotion, or separation decisions, including selection for layoffs; internship programs; and mentoring, leadership development and other career development programs."

I have mixed feelings on this. First and foremost, I support a private business if they discriminate based on ANYTHING!!! Color? YES, Ethnicity, YES, country of origin, YES, religion, YES YES, handicapped, YES, gender, HELL YES.

However, this is not how the jackassbooted government has chosen to run things so now we have to be even steven.

Hilton should be sued into oblivion even if their reason is to protect their property. Too fukin bad!

A private company that does not have woke government appointees on it's board of directors does not discriminate based on race. It's only government that does that. True free enterprise is colour blind. Merit is all that matters.

In yet another sign of a reverse in cultural trends, the organizers of the annual "GayDays" at Disney World announced the event has been put on "pause" this year after several sponsors dropped out.

The event usually lasts for several days and occurs in June during LGBTQ+ Pride Month. This year's event would have been the 35th anniversary at the Orlando resort in Florida.

After 35 years, it appears that Disney Gay Days — the annual LGBTQ+ event where participants, their families, friends, and allies visit the Walt Disney World parks and wear red shirts for visibility — are on their last legs.

The group that organizes the event recently announced that shifting hotel agreements and the loss of key sponsors forced it to cancel the 2026 celebration. Although organizers are encouraging gay fans to visit the parks on the usual dates and wear themed attire, the coordinated celebration appears to be on its way to history's ash heap.

One way to get acceptance is to live your life on your terms, not on others' terms.  By ending this "special" days for groups is getting it into the mainstream.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is cracking down on grocery stores that promote imported food as Canadian. Particularly the Loblaws conglomerate which controls most of Canada's retail grocery delivery. They have been notorious for cashing in on Canada's anti-Trump hysteria by falsely labelling products that are not Canadian sourced as 100 percent Canadian.

So far this year, the federal food regulator has issued two fines to Loblaw-owned grocery stores for this type of violation. The CFIA is also investigating Canadian labelling and advertising practices at grocer Sobeys' head office which is also part of the Weston Loblaws group.

Since the Buy Canadian movement ignited in February 2025 in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's trade war, many grocers have taken full advantage by using patriotic symbols and signage to spotlight domestic products.

Back in September, the CFIA had identified 27 violations in 2025 where grocers, mostly national chains, made erroneous country-of-origin claims. Even so, the agency hadn't issued any fines — which didn't sit well with shoppers.

But now, the CFIA's approach to enforcement has changed.

The agency told CBC it has hit a Loblaw-owned Fortinos in Toronto with a $10,000 fine for misrepresenting a foreign-made food.

The CFIA says the Fortinos, located on Queens Plate Drive in Toronto, displayed Président-brand Rondelé specialty cheese spread with an 11-point maple leaf symbol on the shelf tag. However, the cheese is made in France.

"The product display created an impression that the product was made in Canada," said the CFIA.

Federal regulations state that food labels and in-store signage must be accurate and not misleading.

Last month, CBC News reported that the CFIA also issued a $10,000 fine to Loblaw-owned Superstore in Toronto. It had displayed American-made President's Choice broccoli slaw with "maple leaf advertising decals" and a "product of Canada" statement on an in-store shelf tag.

According to the CFIA, a food is a product of Canada if it was entirely or almost entirely created in the country.
