Not another one - BB King in hospice care

(ABC News) King of the Blues legend B.B. King was in hospice care at his home in Las Vegas, according to a longtime business associate with legal control over his affairs.



The 89-year-old musician posted thanks on his official website for fans' well-wishes and prayers after he returned home from a brief hospitalization, said Laverne Toney, King's longtime business manager and current power-of-attorney.



"Mr. King is where he wishes to be," Toney said. "He's always told me he doesn't want to be in a hospital. He wants to be at home."



An ambulance was summoned Thursday after what Las Vegas police Officer Jesse Roybal characterized as a domestic dispute over medical care. No arrests were made, and Roybal said no criminal complaint was filed.

He will leave a legacy that can hardly be touched. He ain't gone yet.

I was very fortunate to see him in a small venue. Bobby "Blue" Bland opened for him and they played a few numbers together. A concert I will never forget. I think he was 74. Belted those songs out like he was still in his prime.

My husband met him and his daughter Shirley at a bar in Vancouver.

That would have been an honor. Bet he was beside himself.

I was very fortunate to see him in a small venue.

Interesting. I also saw him in  very small venue . a restaurant in N Van Marine Drive with zero backup .... an in the round type setting  .. he also blessed us with some stuff on their grand. It was in about 1986 ..... would have made him about 60 ..... he was brilliant ... Over a period of almost 3 hours Mr Personality visited with most of us in the place and exhibited his natural friendly personality



A moment of pure heaven in my modest earth life .... a wonderful gift that captured me and briefly lifted  me from the lowest of low time in my life.



 I confess .. I love him ..... At my table he played for me "The thrill is gone" .... Sorry to dispute you  BB .. for me, the thrill is NOT gone!!!!!!

B. B. King, whose world-weary voice and wailing guitar lifted him from the cotton fields of Mississippi to a global stage and the apex of American blues, died on Thursday in Las Vegas. He was 89.



His death was reported on his websitem which said he died in his sleep. Mr. King, who had diabetes and other health problems, had been in hospice care.



Mr. King married country blues to big-city rhythms and created a sound instantly recognizable to millions: a stinging guitar with a shimmering vibrato, notes that coiled and leapt like an animal, and a voice that groaned and bent with the weight of lust, longing and lost love.

a personality that I know of no equal to ... not to mention such sheer talent and groundbreaking  innovation .. amazing stamina that your eyes said "cannot be"   .. the exceptionals go on and on

I know he had been in failing health for a while..



He influenced so many and his music will live on for generations..
