I've watched some documentaries on North Korea.  That's one fucked up place and as the world gets smaller, they won't be able to sustain the bullshit.

I understand and agree with the general theory, but I don't think it fits NK. Once it  was allowed to develop nukes and rockets I don't think there will be change ... at least not change for the better.

North Korea still exists for one reason, and one reason only.

Without China, North Korea would never have even existed, and it will suit China's interests to maintain the status quo, because better a friendly lunatic living next door than a hostile rational neighbour.



If the US said to China "We'll withdraw every single American from the peninsula, and every military resource, if you get rid of those whack jobs", China might give it some consideration. But as long as the US has a military contingent present, China will happily maintain their buffer. After all, if a million looney's stand in the way of the US hitting China from the south if the balloon ever did go up, I'd do the same thing.
