There are a lot of cultures out there that use tremendous amounts of food as the centerpiece of their hospitality. It is simply arrogance to assume that one out does the other. But then again, we should consider the source.

Stories I've heard about Singapore is that its a very repressive city state.



Mind u, with such a high population density, overcrowding, they probably need it to keep the place in order.



Otherwise it'd be chaos if they tried to run their society like we do in the West.

In Sing, everything is "perfect"  ..... greenery perfectly groomed ... no bad chat or gestures to be see .... in fact no gestures of any kind  to be seen ...  No bad eye contact or bad words anywhere ... in fact no eye contact or greetings



I had a socialist 1984 kinda feeling all the time we were there ..... everyone at the mercy / whim of a "good?" dictator .... along with that "you are watched 24/7" creepy feeling
I really tried to warn y\'all in 49  .. G. Orwell
