I know it's only a part of the overall, but scaring and / or hurting animals is how it all came to be.

Other events sprung from it.



Seems mainly Wagon Horses, the primo event,  are killed

I don't intend to go anymore, but I would recommend everyone go to it at least once in their lives.....if they can afford it.

Just like the 4th of July festivities in Washington, DC. I've been to it so many times that I do not feel I have to go every year anymore. At least once is good enough. You get a feel for it and that's good.

I like the horses and the wagons but I also liked the military aspect of the parade, my  folks in vancouver however held a dim view of the event and of calgary in general
