Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to undergo a cancer operation and will be handing the reins of power over to his deputy Nikolai Patrushev.



Putin, now 69-years-old, is expected to hand over power to the 70-year-old Patrushev who is believed to have been one of the leading advocates and thinkers behind the invasion of Ukraine.



It is unclear when exactly when Putin will undergo surgery but it is believed that Putin won't go under the knife before May 9 as he intends to preside over Red Victory Day celebrations commemorating the role that the former-Soviet Union had in defeating Nazi Germany.

Roe v. Wade?? ...... Many are reporting it's been nixed  or about to be



I'm not certain yet, but there sure are a lot of reports on it .. even that Alito wrote the final, that it was bad judgement and illegal in law (that has often been said about it all along)  ... re-do it via legislation to make it or a variation of it legal

Guardian: The US supreme court has provisionally voted to overturn Roe v Wade, the landmark ruling that legalised abortion nationwide in America, according to a draft opinion reported on by Politico.



In what appeared to be a stunning and unprecedented leak, Politico said on Monday evening it had obtained an initial majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito and circulated in the court on 10 February.



The opinion strikes down Roe v Wade, the court's 1973 ruling that enshrined the constitutional right to abortion, and a subsequent 1992 decision – Planned Parenthood v Casey – that largely upheld that right.



Politico quoted Alito as saying: "Roe was egregiously wrong from the start. Its reasoning was exceptionally weak, and the decision has had damaging consequences. And far from bringing about a national settlement of the abortion issue, Roe and Casey have enflamed debate and deepened division."



The justice adds: "We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled. It is time to heed the constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people's elected representatives."

Supreme Court chief justice directs marshal to investigate leak, calls out 'egregious breach of ... trust'



Chief Justice John Roberts called the leak a 'betrayal of the confidences of the Court'



In a brief message, the court acknowledged that the leaked document is indeed real, while noting that it is just a draft and that the court has not issued a final decision on the matter.



"Justices circulate draft opinions internally as a routine and essential part of the Court's confidential deliberative work. Although the document described in yesterday's reports is authentic, it does not represent a decision by the Court or the final position of any member on the issues in the case," the court said.

Mark Levin said that Monday's leak of a draft majority opinion is a "grave assault" on the Supreme Court.



"When you conduct yourself in an utterly lawless way, attacking the institutions of this country, attacking the founding documents of this country, attacking the history of this country, this is what you get: lawlessness," he insisted during "Fox & Friends."



He added, ""It's just a matter of time. All these institutions are going to collapse. This is a grave assault on the Supreme Court."
