Tomorrow is the twenty fifth anniversary of the handover of Hong Kong from Britain to China.

Now that the Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade, the idea of not being able to send their lady friends off to the local abortion clinic seems to have prompted young men to take interest in a permanent form of contraception.

According to the Washington Post, doctors across the country are seeing a huge spike in requests for vasectomies in response to the Supreme Court's ruling one week ago, and men under the age of 30 feature prominently among those now seeking the procedure.

A Florida urologist told the outlet that he's seen vasectomy requests jump from four or five per day to 12 to 18 per day and that young men who do not have children are seeking vasectomies in greater numbers than before.

In Los Angeles, doctors have reported a "300% to 400%" increase in vasectomy consultations.

A Missouri-based urologist said, "We're up 900% in people looking to get a vasectomy."

If Thomas's preliminary measurements are correct, the behemoth he found in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park would barely fit inside the cabin of a Boeing 747..

The tree is on Tsleil-Waututh Nation territories. Its director of treaty, lands and resources said western red cedars have been used by his people for everything from dugout canoes, clothing and buildings to ceremonial and medicinal uses.

A computer glitch has caused an estimated 12,000 American Airlines flights to not have pilots in the month of July. There have also been thousands of delays or cancellations for this Fourth of July travel weekend.

Newsweek reported, "On Friday, American Airlines alone had to delay nearly 1,000 flights, with the industry overall suffering over 1,100 cancellations and nearly 11,000 delays. The issue leveled off somewhat on Saturday, with only around 3,000 flights being canceled."

NBC News reported on Saturday, "More than 12,000 July flights lacked either a captain, first officer or both, after pilots dropped assignments, the Allied Pilots Association said earlier."

ABC News reporter Gio Benitez wrote on Twitter, "An overnight computer glitch has allowed thousands of American Airlines pilots to drop their scheduled flights. The union says at least 12,000 flights are now without pilots starting tomorrow through the end of July."

A shooting at a Copenhagen shopping mall on Sunday left several dead and injured, police said.

The suspect, who is custody, is a 22-year-old Danish man who was detained near the Fields shopping mall, said police inspector Søren Thomassen, head of the Copenhagen police operations unit.

"We know that there are several dead" and "several injured," Thomassen told a news conference, adding that terror can't be ruled out. "We do not have information that others are involved. this is what we know now."

How bad are the backups in the customs halls at Pearson? So bad that the fire chief for Canada's busiest airport has warned airlines that if they let passengers off before they're told to, they will be in violation of the National Fire Code.

"Every Border Officer working on the frontline will tell you that the implementation of the ArriveCan application has seen processing times skyrocket," union president Mark Weber told a Commons committee two weeks ago . "At airports, this means travellers piling up in and outside the customs area."

This is another problem that has been created from the overreaction to the pandemic.

In 2019, the Liberal government promised a new consumer advocate whose mandate would include transportation-related complaints — but as travellers deal with ongoing havoc at Canadian airports, there's still no sight of the new agency.

Canada's airports and airlines are seeing massive problems with delays, cancellations, and lost and delayed luggage. On Tuesday, Air Canada again took the top spot on a global list of most-delayed large airlines, with 65 per cent of its flights delayed. Toronto's Pearson Airport was the only airport in the world where more than half of flight departures were delayed, The Canadian Press reported.

John Kevin Woodward, the president and CEO of Readytech, has been charged with the 1992 murder of Laurie Houts.

Back in 1992, Houts was found strangled to death in her car at a garbage dump in Mountain View, California, about a mile from Adobe Systems in San Jose, where she worked as a computer engineer. When police arrived at the scene, they found a rope still tied around her neck and her footprints on the interior of the windshield, evidence that she had struggled against her attacker. She was just 25 years old.

A Florida woman was killed after she was attacked by two alligators at a golf course.

Shortly before 8 p.m. on Friday, an elderly woman accidentally fell into a pond at the Boca Royale Golf and Country Club, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

Witnesses said the Englewood woman struggled to get out of the pond. Meanwhile, two alligators attacked the woman.

"While in the water, two alligators were observed near the victim and ultimately grabbed her while in the water," a news release said, according to WPTV-TV.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to WINK-TV. The woman's identity has not been revealed yet.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) found two alligators at the golf course pond. The FWC said the one gator was 8-feet, 10-inches-long, and the other was 7-feet, 7-inches-long. The FWC removed the animals from the golf course.
