It must all be due to real estate speculation.

Since it isn't very good elsehwhere, maybe they park their money in real estate while the world economy is in a slump?

BC has some real potential for export growth, but the coastal no industry greenies don't want good paying jobs in their province. BC is really two provinces, the coast and everything else.

.....but it's all an illusion, Fashionista.

It's not booming in Vancouver. Certainly not like it was in Alberta.

I don't know who writes or dreams up these stories, some business writer with rose colored glasses.

The majority of the new jobs must be in retail, the fast food services industry or in construction building shiny new condos or monster homes for the ultra rich.

Other than drugs & marijuana, the only other industries in Vancouver/BC seems to be tourism & people moving here.

I think a lot of the migrants are bums who want to escape the cold weather in other provinces. Otherwise there don't seem to be a lot of good paying jobs here unless you're a friend of Christy Clark, Gregor Robinson & the BC Liberals. There's a lot of corruption in this province, much more than the mainstream media is willing toacknowledge or talk about. But you never hear about it.

Hopefully all of Canada will become as multicultural as Vancouver is. Vancouver is leading the way for a new Canada.
