Quote from: "Dove"Since I'm not operating outside of biblical doctrines and adding to the word of God, I have biblical authority to point out errors in church dogma.

Oh my goodness, why didn't you say so in the first place?

All pagans and heretics bow down and respect the biblical authoritah!
Were did I say you have to bow down?  You are such a slave to the beliefs of others. Accept it and walk away. Not everyone thinks like you. You are forever jumping in on topics just to spew your preconceived ideas and blast your personal world view as if your view is the authority. Do I correct YOU according to MY beliefs?  No. I don't. But you always bust in telling how to think about abortion, the bible, everything. You don't have to agree with me, but there is no way I'm going to agree with you and you need to grow up and accept that.  You are gonna have a bad time if you continue with this small minded hogwash.

Dove, if you haven't figure it out by now, Romero is a hypotwat. Totally full of shit. He will criticize your religion, but has his nose right up the ass of Islam. The most heinous, racist, misogynistic, homophobic, intolerant ideology on the face of the earth.
He is a liberal puppet who believes what he is told. So naturally his views are weak, circular and nonsensical.

^Bullshit, he's hypocrite and nothing more. This is why he attacks your harmless religion and gives Islam a pass.

Quote from: "Dove"  Yes, the Bible teaches to rebuke false teaches according to the authority of scripture. We are to make judgements according to the authority of scripture, not our personal opinions or biases. That's what it's teaching.  I don't hate catholics. But their teachings go against scripture, so I'm judging that based on what the Bible says....not by my personal feelings. I haven't met a priest that I don't respect. I know saved Christians in the Catholic congregation.  Honestly....I think people are so touchy about Christian beliefs that they jump to conclusions. It's the only world view in which outsiders don't take the time to fully understand, yet get defensive and attempt to correct or dictate.  Much like shen keeps pointing out, the more Muslims destroy everywhere they go....the more dislike of Christianity there is. It's odd, and prophetic.  Do people even really take the time to think about the suggestion that Jesus told to never judge?  That would mean we can't even judge our own actions. How are we to repent?  Notice in that same chapter He tells us to remove the log from our own eye so we can see clearly to remove the spec from our brothers eye.  This is telling us to not use hypocritical judgement. It is not telling us to never judge.  Also....we are to speak truth in love. Not do it malisciously.  My beliefs are not secular. My beliefs are Christain....it's not a weekend hobby for me.  It should be expected that I refer to scripture.

And you should expect that I challenge your application of said scripture as I went to school and learned scripture despite you saying Catholics don't study it.  I had multiple copies of the bible in my home, a few of which I got while I was in school.

Jesus was pretty clear on the whole "judge not lest ye be judged" thing and they hypocrisy in doing so.  He stated the hypocrisy in doing so.  It's in the parable about the speck and beam.  Where is your adherence to that part of scripture?

That's a good idea. You should latch onto something like that and score some points with the almighty before your elderly spirit finally shits the bed.  :laugh3:

Did you read what I said?  Or just make up what I said?  Are you assuming I didn't just devote a solid 15 months of nothing but studying this? Jesus never told us to never judge, He taught us HOW to judge. If my word isn't good enough for you....I also have several translations, commentaries and even a few videos for you to chose from.  I have scriptures from the epistles about how to properly judge.  You can challah get my application all day....I'm pretty confident here. I'm seriously doubting you read what I said. I literally just talked about the log and spec. This is Matthew 7. Let's look at the whole chapter....shall we?

7 "Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye'; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

6 "Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.

Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking

7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! 12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

The Narrow Way

13 "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because[a] narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

You Will Know Them by Their Fruits

15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

I Never Knew You

21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' 23 And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

Build on the Rock

24 "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

26 "But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall."

28 And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, 29 for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Now explain how we are to even know there is a spec in our brothers eye. How do we know who the dogs and pigs are?  How do we tell if fruit is bad?  Maybe.....judging by the authority of God's Word, and not from our own hypocritical opinions or feelings.  If a priest is telling us to pray to Mary, that's idolitry. How do I know that?  Well I have several scriptures saying so.  That's bad fruit.  Do you understand my point yet?  If the leader of the church raped you, RW, by your application you can't judge his action as bad, yanno.  Because Jesus said don't judge, right?  You can't call him a false teacher. Does that sound like the right application to you?  The bible isn't a bag of trail mix. If you were a student of theology, youd be aware of a term called "full treatment".  Scripture backs scripture.  You have to take the whole chapter, not just the sentences that support your thinking.

">https://youtu.be/fcPgxHxIs2Q  shortest commentary and to the point that should clear up the point. It's not ME that calls the RC unchristain and heretical. The bible does. I'm drawing my conclusion based on the words of Christ and scripture.

I've never criticized Christianity, and I've never praised Islam. I dare either of you two to prove otherwise.

I judge people by their individual character. Not by their faith and beliefs.

You might want to note that I recently defended over one billion Catholic Christians who you call "pagans" and "heretics".

So who's criticizing Christians? You.
